Looks pretty awesome. The head seems kind of big, and the plastic colors might seem a bit tacky, but other than that, very awesome toy.
This figure has really wild variations in reactions. Some of you love it some despise it. I'll be getting it but once again Human Alliance is not as good as we want it to be. I think the Human gimmick is what keeps us from getting alternator-esque type movie toys.
A big improvement over the Deluxe, but certainly not perfect. Probably still getting him though. I'm sure we'll see some cool angles of the figure once the reviews start coming in.
Not bad-looking, but not as impressive as the "official" photos made it look. The HA line has been generally impressive so far, so I have high hopes for this, but I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures.
Compared to Bumbleebee and the Twins it doesn't look so hot. BUT if it has neck articulation it's already much better than the deluxe. And it HAS to be better then Sideswipe. Edit: I hope *Soundwave* is right and that plastic doesn't end up that terrible brownish color IRL
my only complaint looking at these photos is that they could have made his main body a little bigger. his arms and legs look kind of over sized compared to his body. but besides that he looks beautiful. lovin the look of frenzy as well. cant wait to see what frenzy looks like to next to soundwave
No, the Human gimmick is what lets us get vaguely-Alternators-esque movie toys. And Frenzy does come out of his chest last I heard.
Sure it's the Human gimmick that lets these toys exist, you're right about that, but it hampers the design by requiring the central spine between the seats.
Looking very nice. final get some bad in the mix of HA line. Looks nice but something about the face paint app seems out of place, meh, really I'm just over joy we get a Barricade with out the stupid spring loaded arm
He looks great, I love the face with the goatee! I'm not so keen on all the brown on him, but this is a sure buy for me.
I don't know why everyone is freaking out about this. I have the utmost faith in the Human Alliance line, it has given us too many good figures. We've also seen examples of terrible stock photos before- even in HA Bumblebee. The brown color is not brown- it is, as said before, the color of Sideswipe's blades. It will mesh much better in a more natural lighting environment. There are obvious issues in the posing of the figure, which looks a lot better in the stock photos because the legs are fully extended. I think those who doubt its appearance should wait for reviews before making it a definite pass- I'll be doing one, and I'll be telling you if the problems mentioned in this thread are a real issue.
Looks great from here! I'm pretty darn sure that the color issue is just like what happened with Sideswipe as pointed out earlier in the thread. Only an issue in some photos and non-existent in real life. I'm digging the big arms. This version blows away all the other Deluxe/FAB/Legends versions easily. I've been extremely happy wital the HA figs so far and this one appears to be ready to continue that trend. HA's are the best thing to come out of the ROTF toys. My future wish list for HA figs: Blackout with Pilot (in-scale dream fig!) Ratchet with Random British Soldier Sideways with Alice Jolt and 3rd Bike Girl with Roommate guy Ironhide with Mr. Furgie Kitchen Bots Multi-pack with Mom Whitwicky (whaaaat?) Rampage with Mom and Dad Whitwicky
I haven't seen HA Sideswipe in person, so I'm wondering just how grey is the brown looking plastic? Does it look brown at all in natural lighting?
No. Rather, it's a strange shade of dark gray that looks gray in hand and brown in overexposed, white-background pictures.
Looks a little dissapointing but then Sideswipe looked a lot dissapointing and he turned out to be great. Skids also turned out great despite me not being that interested in either the character or the car so in theory. This being both a hot car with a cool paint job and a good character means it should turn out to be great based on past expieriences with toys that looked bad... Man, this toy collecting gig is complicated.
Both the packaging & the alt-mode are pretty nice but something about bot-mode looks a little off... Hopefully some non-photoshopped pics will paint him in a better light...
