Is it my imagination; or is his Mini-Con, Heavy-Load I believe, a heavy remold or at least design based on Demolishor's partner Blackout from Armada?

Stripmine. Heavy Load comes with Menasor. :)

"Based on", maybe; but the huge differences would make it rather unviable for Hasbro to retool the mold instead of making a new one from scratch.

Just like Metroplex's Mini-Con partner Drillbit shares some similarities with Armada Megatron's Mini-Con partner Leader-1.

Looks cool, but not sure I'm digging the cement-mixer-barrel-for-an-arm. Never was a fan of frankenstein-ish features like that.

The minicon reminds me more of Buzzsaw(Destruction team) than Blackout.

My only problem with him is that he seems to have no waist.

It looks like I'll be skipping all the Giant Planet releases, save for maybe the mini-con team. Maybe when they're on clearance towards the end of the series I'll pick them up.

    I don't think they're all that bad.
    Neat pics nonetheless.

Hmm well, not great, but fairly good... hes the best of the giant planet designs by MILES, yet he's barely an average Cybertron figure,

Does anyone have any idea why the Giant planet designs seem generally so much below the standard of the other Cybertron figures? were they last minute replacments for the rumoured abandoned "apocalypse planet"?

Bit bland, maybe, but I liked the show character. So I hope he'll show up in my area one day :)

I love it. I think the reason I like Menasor and Quickmix so much is the head scuplts...they're SO out of the norm for a TF head style it's just awesome...same thing with Sideways. I'll be eagerly awaiting the other Giant Planet TFs

Man, Giant Planet has been really disappoint as far as figure quality goes. This is easily the best one, and it's still not very good.

I'm on the fence with this one. On the one hand, it's not a particularly stellar toy. On the other hand, I do want a Giant cyber key and I have no intention to buy Metroplex or Menasor. I'll have to think on this (assuming, of course, that all those unsold Mudflaps start moving and there's an actual chance that any new wave of Voyagers will show up here).
