We have seen it, what is new though is the fact that TFSource cites it as having Diecast parts. So all is not lost for your post.

I didn't notice the diecast bit. Odd, I would think they would make an MP3 player as light as possible.

What I think is also worth noting is that I believe it is realistically about the same size as the original Soundwave. I put a MiniSD card on top of a cassetticon and it was roughly half the size, and the card takes up less than half of Soundwaves doors in the MP3 pictures.

It was said in another article that it's "slightly" smaller than the original Soundwave.

I personally think that it would be awesome if Hasbro would include this thing in the Classics line. Peace out.

They'd have to gut the electronics to make it feasible I'd imagine, but I would happy buy one without the electronics for the toy itself.

Ditto. In fact, I'd prefer it if they gutted the electronics. (and any die cast too, for that matter).

I think it is somewhat unlikely that they will sell these in North America. This is because Takara announced they were producing sports and music-themed Transformers to follow up their Kiss Players line. We've seen the sports ones in the form of the Sports Label Optimus/Megatron shoes, and the music ones are the Music Label Soundwave mp3 player and the Optimus iPod dock. Since Kiss Players was not released over here, I have my doubts about these products being released here, too.
Though if they do release them, that would be awesome, and I would much prefer these over the Kiss Player line.

From what I can tell, the color player pic is just a colorization of the gray prototype image, and may or may not be completely speculative.

I'm not all that big on the idea of it having die-cast parts, since the only reason for it to have them is to appease the people who think all "good" TFs should have die-cast parts.

or it's design may require them for durability.

nice i think it is just a colorization of the prototype picture, not and actual colored prototype/figure. Still looks good though. One of the few figures of the year I am excited about.

A definite possibility I'll admit, but given what we've seen so far, and the design of past toys that turned into box shapes, I sincerely doubt it.

Oh, it's definitely just a photoshop. Probably one done by Takara - but even then I wouldn't read too much into it. The Takara photoshop of, say, Sunstorm on his solicitation had some major changes to the finished toy.
