I noticed that my new Hasbro MP Starscream is developing those same stress marks at the wing joints after three of four transformations. So far it's just on one side of one joint, but it has me a little worried.

I've seen at least one other person mention this, anybody else have these?

None on mine, but I only transformed him to jet mode and back once. I plan on keeping him in bot mode, so I'm not really worried about it.

The tiny narrow ones on the top of jet mode. They connect the wings to the body.

It's the same joint the Takara release had problems with.

I haven't seen any indications of stress marks on mine at all, and I've transformed him several times. I'll keep an eye on them though.

ARGH! I was hoping that this wouldn't happen.

This and the fuselage problem were my two concerns on this figure. :banghead:

Not my pic, but this is where to look. You'll see white lines radiating out from and around those pins.

One of my wing joints cracked on 3rd transformation. Same exact spot as MP-03. I was being a little rough, which you can absolutely not do.

I think the best way to handle the wing joint is to bend both sides of the same joint at the same time. Its hard to explain, but each wing joint has 2 pins where it rotates. Bend the joint on both of those pins at the same time. In other words, don't bend one and then the other (on the same wing joint). The stress seems to be the worst when you bend one pin full range and then the other.

Here is a close up of where it will break if it does.

I think shaving down some of the plastic might help as well.

Phew! No stress marks at all, although the panel lines around that one pin made it look like it had cracked!

The problem where those tabs on the front sides of the jet near the intakes don't line up right and leave big gaps, probably. Mine has that problem as well.

Yeah, that panel line is the culprit, that is exactly where it will break if it does, well sometimes.

Razerwire is right, you can prevent the break/stess mark completely by shaving down some of the plastic.

    Another pic from MP-03 days.

Here is where the stress is because the tolerance on the "link" piece is too tight.
