They're definitely separate pieces, but I wouldn't be surprised if you could attach the sword to the gun.

 

You can already do that with FE Voyager Prime. XD



And I can't remember if Prime actually has an Autobot insignia on his left shoulder guard on the show like the new Takara Voyager Prime mold seems to indicate (with the silver paint stripe). I thought no, given that Optimus gets a Decepticon insignia welded there in the same spot by Knockout at the end of the season finale?

Also, not digging how the shoulder guards for this new Optimus mold has screws featured prominently in the front; the FE version doesn't have those unsightly screws showing. As for the chest windows, the FE version doesn't bother me all that much with its chest window cheats, to be honest. But this new mold does look to have more accurate chest windows transformation without any cheating involved.

 

I honestly don't like it. Stupid electronics...First Edition voyagers better get to the U.S. now!

 

I'm not really feeling the clear plastic on this one, so I'll be passing on it.

 

I'll probably be buying it   My mind is overwhelmed with Prime news right now.

 

That much clear plastic = instant pass.

Was it really retooled/deceoed? The silver stripe and Autobot logo looked embossed to me, which I think implies they were just stickers.

 

I'm just glad this wasn't the first version or I would have a Voyager-sized hole where Optimus Prime should be.

 

Can that sword on FE Prime stay attached to the gun very securely?

I actually like this new one, just needs more paint apps. The Takara FE Prime looks beast also.

WONDER IF HOT SHOT will look like a better CHUG Hot Shot. This year IS the 10th anniversary of Armada after all.....and the Power Shots Prime resembles Armada Prime...

It would be cool to have some Armada love in the Prime line.

 

Not very, unfortunately. It works fine for display but it will get askew or knocked off the gun easily during play. I suppose you can get the sword in there more securely by cutting out some of the interior rubbery plastic where the cupped peg sits (and hits some of the gun's underside molding) but it honestly doesn't bother me that much to mod it.

I just do it because I can and it looks neat, and frees up his other hand for the orange energon axe minicon I got from the Japanese Toys'R'Us. =) And I love the darker, richer colors on Takara Voyager Prime than the lighter Hasbro release (ditto with Bulkhead).

Not liking the light up gimmock for the voyager OP.

 

Not really liking this new Voyager mold. Of course I'm not a big fan of electronics either so that's certainly not helping matters.

 

I didn't think about it but now that you mention it... Looks like I have to find a place selling Takara First Edition Prime for a honest price.

 

Ditto. Hopefully Megatron will be better. I just hope they give him nice big shoulders and nice big feets.

 

Alright, I like that his shoulders aren't a cheat this time around, his front wheels actually end up on his back (even if they end up on his lower back instead of his shoulder blades) and that he is more accurate from the waist down (especially the feet), but there's so much inappropriate clear plastic and that back kibble that they just kill it.

 

The proportions are also off. The first voyager was pretty much spot-on in that regard, but here his torso is the wrong shape, the arms are the wrong shape and the feet are very small.

 

If they're serious about the Prime/WFC connection...

I kinda wanna get this and just swap it's head on first edition.

 

So, does this mean no First Edition Voyagers in the US? I'd much rather have that beautiful Optimus and Bulkhead with no clear parts, please!
