What's up with the paint scheme?
It says "TEST SHOT" right there in the topic header...
Well the test version actually looks worse than the real deal...
The color scheme they used for the test shot looks like some bizarre fusion of Starscream, Skywarp, and Thundercracker. And, in some ways, it looks a lot more like the character it's supposed to be than the actual color scheme.
either that or it is a tribute to G2 tf's
If the pilot really turns out to be Archeville that would be cool.
Wait, so it looks all plastic. Is the final thing all plastic?!
Wheeeeeeeee!!!! He has a little piolit!
I'm diggin' those colors. Missed prime but I'm deffinatly gettin' this guy!
If I understand the term "test shot" properly, then I would point out that there isn't a "color scheme" at all and they simply test the molds for the figure with whatever spare plastic they have handy - hence the hodge-podge of colors.
That's not a paintscheme. That's literally some randomish spraypainting that greatly resembles the usual "gaff it up so it looks unpleasant" treatment lots of testshots get given.
Neat photos, but the only real revelation is the opening cockpit.
somehow it looks less impressive to me in these pics...not because of the color...it looks cheap.
I like it, it really disguised the fact that there is a robot in that plane, more than meet the eye indeed
Wow. Some one really wanted it to look bad by spray painting it all over. I guess that'll deter some people from buying it. Looks cheap in those colors. I wish we had some robot pics though. I can't wait for the actual figure.
That was NOT necessary... Check your PM's NOW...
Sorry. It was. Ill accept my warning, cause I know I was in violation of the rules, but it was totally necessary.
being rude is being rude. someone had to call him out.
Jet is still sleek but youch, the colors are nasty. Someone sure did a good job making that testshot look bad.
Uh isn't that the first mold? I don't pieces blocking the robot bits on the side like the new mold.
Kinda impressed with how well it looks like the robot mode is diguised by the alt mode.
i guess they figure it wouldn't sell if they painted it like that
I know there really wasn't any "scheme," per se. I just used that wording for lack of a better term.
Nozzles still look weird. The combination of the ball-joint mounts (which is surprising, since they're trying so hard to make it a realistic F-15) and the simplification of the nozzle design makes them look too long, too big, and mounted too far aft. Just eliminating the movable joint and putting them in the right place would help a lot.
Or possibly, they can be moved forward and locked into place, it just hasn't been so in any pic we've seen. (It took a while before they put the intakes in the right position for bot mode, it might take them another 2 months to put the nozzles in the right place for fighter mode)
