Thundercracker won't have his own designation....he'll be a sub letter of MP11 (MP11T is the most obvious guess), that seems to be the way the MP line is going now. Repaints seemingly don't get there own number now.

 

LOL If it is Ironhide and Ratchet can we all agree that Takara is officially atacking 3P groups?

 

Sideswipe TOTALLY reinvigorates my interest in this line.

 

I'm sure some will still think that it is a ridiculous notion but it'll look pretty obvious to me anyway. I can't think of a better way to piss on iGear's bonfire.....two figures that are becoming a running joke being superceeded by official MP's? All assuming they are at least on a par aesthetically with iGears and one would imagine bigger too to scale better with MP10.

 

I'm also suspecting MP-14 being Megatron for a few reasons:

1. We've heard rumors one is in the works.
2. TCracker, a known insider, and who's hinted one is coming, had a VERY interesting reaction when that teaser info about that upcoming MP-sized third party Megatron turned up.
3. Megatron's becoming a target of third party groups. And TakaraTomy probably wants to steal their thunder with a better toy.
4. They need a new Megatron to go with Prime.

Incidentally, WOW, that Sideswipe looks gorgeous.

 

Those feet definitely look diecast, and that's fucking rad.

Megatron, for the same reasons most of you state; 3rd party companies are coming out with theirs soon.

Though let me be in the minority and say that I find it a tad early to announce the next one. Sideswipe\Soundwave will be out in December or October, so MP14 will realistically be out on March-May 2013.

 

Which is why I'm leaning more and more towards Ironhide/Ratchet. Announce now, crush iGear's, let the hype train begin. Two big season 1 characters too.

 

Oh man... I am so glad I preordered sideswipe from BBTS when the price went down because even though I still think he should be bigger... I can just tell he's going to be gorgeous.

I'm getting excited for him again!

That and we don;t know what 14 is so you can't really say that. Oh and Jazz has no on screen character repaint options.

I see Jazz coming in after Sideswipe, Ironhide, and Prowl. I would go as far as saying he will come after Mirage, but that is only because an MP Mirage would be the thing that wet dreams are made of.

 

Well that's certainly good to hear but I won't consider him a lock just yet.

Also, they've only just started down this road, can't expect every character to be announced straight away.

 

Also, I doubt UM would be $220. Maybe $320. The reissue of MP10 is going for $280. I cannot see UM going for any cheaper then that.

 

When MP-10 came out with that $280 price point, I recall an insider saying they are testing the price point.

Ultra Magnus should be around $280.

 

Hoping for a proper MP megs or Galvatron. Ultra Magnus seems more likely though.

 

I'm sure UM will be right around that price point and as such, I'll happily wait for Hasbro's version just as I am for Hasbro's version of MP10.

I'm really hopinh for Galvatron's announcement as MP14 but if they go with bot/con/bot then I'd really like to see Ironhide next.

 

Man, a little posing goes a long way in making the Sideswipe figure look totally badass.

Well played, Takara, you officially got me back to caring about the Masterpiece line and have once again elevated my expectations of what's to come next. I have every limb crossed hoping that this 'new' MP line is more focused, consistent and just the beginning of things to come.
