I was there once in 12th grade when my high school orchestra went over seas to play some Scotland. I didn't think there was anything either, just a tourist trap with a gift shop that sold Loch Ness French Ticklers. For reals!

I don't for one second believe there's a dinosaur in the Loch, but it's one of those myths that I hope is never utterly disproven. It's just nice to have 'oddball' things like this to lighten the tone of today, and much of that community is built on the myth and would be harmed if it was debunked.
That part of Scotland is utterly gorgeous in it's own right, but the myths adds a nice additional atmosphere to it.

And the Nessie legend led to one of the best episode of Gerry Anderson's STINGRAY, so I will always thank 'him' for that.

I don't believe a word. And with today's technology, any footage will be hard to believe anyway.

If there were anything in the Loch, someone would have already found it and killed it by now.

    Very interesting.

It would be nice if they actually showed the footage though.

    Thanks.

The footage is much less exciting than the description of it in the CNN article.

Uh...didn't the guy who took the original famous photograph admit that he faked it, right before he died?

I'm not sure if I've ever heard that. Last I heard, though, there's a good chance that what we're seeing in that old photo is an elephant. Story goes that traveling circuses would let their elephants down into the lake all the time to bathe and such. In relation to the photo, the monster's "hump" is actually the bony lump on top of the elephant's skull, and it's "head" is the elephant's trunk, being used like a snorkel.
