Blitzwing will have the anime face and maybe a g1 gun?

Yeah, I'd expect a silver face for Blitzwing. Perceptor would be basically the same, there's nothing for Takara to improve honestly. Theirs will probably just have a more pastel blue like the cartoon.

That is just it, if there isn't much to improve on either Blitzing or Perceptor, they may just skip them, and go for a different character with the mold...just like they did for Alpha Trion.

For Perceptor all they could really do is add some chrome bits?

They could paint the headmasters better.

FWIW, as the guy who made the "better plastic" comment, I didn't mean higher tensile strength or whatever. I meant better colors. A real white in place of undyed smeg.

For Perceptor they can make the eyes blue, add yellow paint to the rectangle part of his forehead, and remove the silver square on his chest so it's entirely red like the cartoon. And of course, actually paint the titanmaster properly because Hasbro never seems to do it.

Where are you seeing $10 deluxes? Even TJMAXX/Marshalls selling overstock at closeout is at least that much. Regular stores selling brand new stock's likely 150% that much. Online 200-250%. Even legends are likely to run you more than $10 these days.

Hasbro's stuff might be cheap in build quality but don't dare trying to pin that on what Americans are willing to pay, because that's sure not it in 2015-present.

I'd love a Takara Legends Perceptor to have his old g1 rifle and rocket launcher. I guess it'll be too much to ask for a Titanmaster painted/remolded to resemble the Nijika :)

I don't know, fans may be willing to pay Target whatever they want, but I definitely don't see that at shows or online. I had to cut way back on Hasbro because I just couldn't sell through a single case most of the time.

Takara is a slightly different story. While fans bicker over how proper coloring isn't with a few more dollars, they usually presell out. Then they're not too difficult to move.

I actually bought all of TR wave 3 for $9.99 as it was marked on the peg as such. But you missed my point entirely. The North American consumer is notorious for being upset anytime class price points increase. Yet buying $25 deluxes from Takara is no big deal.

Just today I bought a Brawn at Target for $10.29. While it doesn't really matter, paying that extra .30 cents really irks the hell out of me.

Hey can we SPECULATE on Slugslinger remolding, because the Hasbro remold, just seems completely unfinished to me. The arms don't go anywhere and the duel cockpits are useless...

I don't think they'll be anything different as far as tooling other than including Caliburst and a 5mm hole for Caliburst if there isn't a usable one already. He already looks like he does in Headmasters, just like Misfire and Triggerhappy.

Painted windows, painted hubcaps, painted faces, painted details. Plus if we're talking $25 pre-shipping, that so far has included TitanMasters or TargetMasters. Then there's not having to waste time playing the Shroedinger's Cat game at retail.

There's a different kind of customer buying Takara versus Hasbro.

I do think they'll give Slugslinger a new facesculpt too, the Hasbro one is accurate-ish but still very different from the Headmasters cartoon.

    This.

And, again, I've almost never had a Hasbro figure break but many of my Takara figures break. If one plastic is "more quality" than the other, why is it so fragile?

That was kinda my point. Takara has the ability to use 'better quality' materials as the buyer is different.

Yeah, I don't think Takara will remold the dual cockpits to comically oversized proportions just so they can both fit a Titan Master. And his arms have to go somewhere; with Triggerhappy they were integrated into the vehicle mode but with Slugslinger, they're not. So what do you want them to do?

...a couple of my beast wars neo figures broke this year after two decades in storage...

...i'm still going with takara generally keeping a higher budget for materials, detailing, accessories, and packaging, and it shows fairly consistently...
