He isnt. those legion heads are all different. there are a bunch of them (note the numbers on their heads). It appears they build the head, feed it a kissplayer, which then gives them the new bodies.

The thing is, there's nothing wrong with the toys themselves. Mellisa is a surfer girl. Nothing out of the ordinary at all. Xioa-Xioa has a disturbing padlock, but aside from that nothing wrong there. It's the illustrations and fiction surrounding the toys that's....well....just wrong.

Personally I could care less what Takara/Tomy get up to really, I am however very glad that Hasbro are not following suit.

It is kinda amusing that every single thing related to this line is significantly dodgier-looking than the last.

OTOH Binaltech Asterisk can easily been seen as part of a evolution from Binaltech to Kiss-Play, so it may not have been due to the merger.

I sure wish we had some Japanese Transfans in here with which to gather opinions from. I honestly believe that the pre-existing Japanese fanbase are equally annoyed/disgusted by this. If TF had started with Kissplay, it would have grown a completely different fanbase, but that's only obvious. Also obvious is that it would have never gotten off the ground and would have crashed into a tree trunk. Tomy/Takara doesn't realize this fact.

It's kind of cool, though. This means TF have migrated back to their birthplace to die. Born in Japan, die in Japan. Ahh, too sweet.

In seriousness, though. Kissplay will NOT kill TF altogether. TF is not as big a seller in Japan as it is here, as clearly evidenced by this new Kissplay DESPERATION. This new DESPERATION is likely to kill it in Japan by alienating the old fans while not attracting any new fans. Kind of like the way the band A Static Lullaby did things with their Laso Fatido (whatever it's called) CD.

Mark my words, Hasbro will keep it going even without Takara's help if they have to. If they see no way they can get by without Takara's molds, for whatever reason, then they'll hire Takara's designers. Hasbro is an all-absorbing entity, and will eat what it can to stay alive. TF is a hot seller in the USA, and will likely remain a hot seller in the USA even after the movie (which will make a lot of money, even if it sucks).

Transformers will live.

Eh, I didn't like these aspects in a show like Godannar (which I did enjoy for the mecha combat sequences  ), though I don't find it that offensive. Just a poor attempt at using shock tactics to draw attention to the TF genre. I'm just ignoring the backstory from now on, it doesn't appeal to me at all.

 

Look, none of us approve of the KISSplayer line. But stating that your opinion is true simply because you say it is is not a compelling argument and doesn't stand up. Go hate things on your own time.

And I laugh at anyone who says Transformers will end when the movie is released. Maybe the relevance of whiny fans will end because they'll be drown beneath a wall of successful franchising. Maybe your definition of Transformers will end, but for the majority of geewun fanboys, their definition of Transformers has never actually existed in the first place.
