Kazi has released a new one, set #8024 "Bumblebee King", which continues it's current Transformer movie theme brick toys with a Bumblebee inspired toy. Like the their not-Optimus Prime made of lego-style bricks this transforms, but relies on heavily customized pieces. It's probably the least Lego-brick-like of the line, most in line with a FAB Bumblebee toy to transformation. Still, an interesting attempt. Remember though, they made this line a year before Kre-O, so this is not a Kreo knockoff.

No knockoff, Kazi Brick sets that turn into robots long pre-date Kreo. It's just their last few new sets have gotten started to look more and more like Transformers characters, whereas they used to be generic robots a couple years back. The Kazi brick robots are all original designs too.

Since there's no TakTomy logo on the box, I'll assume this is not a licensed item. Therefore it is more a bootleg product than it is a knock off.

It is not licensed from Hastak. It is an original Kazi design. Think of it as "third party".

If there's one thing this set's got right than Kreo, it actually transforms.

In a world where they made up that design. Sure it looks INSPIRED by movie Bumblebee and it is made with lego-compatable bricks, but they designed that particular set themselves.

No, they are standard lego technic brick shapes.

You know with all those lego connection points on the hood and roof of the car, you could make up some brick-mechtech weapons for Bumblebee.

Mine arrived today, as it plainly obvious it has many custom parts, but here are the instructions:

I got mine today too. Transformation is slightly more involved than on FAB Bumblebee (plus, you can compress the backpack but it's not shown in the instructions). Other than the neck being to spin (I'll add superglue later) and the feet not sitting perfectly flat on the ground (you have to put the figure in a slight A stance), once you're done building it, you can play with it like a regular Transformer. Imo, that's what Kre-o should have been. Oh, and clicky joints too!
