Any word on who's doing the voice yet? And you can tell it's a Maxim spread, because he's got boobie grabbing claw action! (and by boobie I mean little blue footed birds,,, what were YOU thinking?)
Standard to Battlemode? As an animator myself, I have nothing but sheer, unadulterated worship for the guys & gals over at ILM - granted, I dont agree with all their design choices (no arm cannon for megs? - Double-you-Tee-Eff??) but COME ON!! how awesome does that look! Ok, now that I've got that out of the way - Yes, I'd have to agree that elements of Jazz's head have been changed, although I'd say they are very minor changes, mostly just surface color / diffuse levels... As for changes to the actual geometry of the head armor, the only obvious change is that the central head "crest" has a bit more of a delta shape to it, and it appears to be a bit flatter (is that even a word?) in the original design...Apart from that I don't really see why we can't be looking at 2 different modes of the same face design. I apologise if the attached image is a bit confusing, but as I am at work, I had to slap it together rather quickly...
