Silent shockwave sucks. Just use some voice`s from the original cartoon please. Does anyone else need him to say;

"As you command mighty Megatron"
"This is illogical" (When he see`s Prime for the first time)
"What is your command, Megatron?"

He needs dialogue, especially seeing as he was spotted in filmming with Soundwave next to him (Head`s on poles) A short brief convo between them would work. Megatron also needs to at least appear and talk with Shockwave, and it needs to be obvious that he follows Megatron (Not the new leader - who will remain nameless as i cant do spoiler tags)

Last but not least i want to see him and Starscream at least have a short line of dialogue. Possibly with Starscream suggesting that Shockwave join him to overthrow Megatron...

 

Holy shit, I missed that in the article. Shockwave is FORTY feet tall. He's bigger then both Prime and Megatron!

Wait - isn't that him Optimus spiked knuckles into in a spot?

 

Shockwave isn't the main villain, at least as far as the novel goes

. If it's anything to go by, Shockwave has as much screen time as Starscream in TF1. He's a bit part to end the "money shot" of Prime flying the gauntlet of Decepticons...

the article says "The eye is critical and the mouth is critical"

Plus, you can see his mouth move all over the place in some TV spots! it's the scene where he loads his gun.

 

Jeez, all the article pretty much says is that he has to emote with his eye because he doesn't have a face to do it with. Maybe a poor choice of words to compare him to a silent movie star, but still.

Exactly. Shockwave only has an eye and a creepy vagina mouth, which means it's a bit harder to show his emotion/point to the audience.

 

I think whether he says nothing, very little or a lot he will be a badass regardless.

Aw come on, Bay and Krueger are not stupid enough to not give Shockwave anything to say. He's too much of a fan favorite.

Besides, didn't Corey Burton say he was approached to do Shockwave, but turned it down? Kinda indicative if that's the case.

I'm certain Shockwave will have some lines in the film. In the comic and novel adaptation, we see him talking at some points, don't we?

And even if he doesn't speak, does it really matter? I know some of us were hoping to have that same British accent he had within the G1 series, but this isn't G1. Lets not forget the Shockwave was originally more of a scientist than a fighter in the original series, and look at him now? He's depicted as a cold emotionless killer. Someone who has no time for words. To this Shockwave, words are simply.....illogical.

Shockwave kind of reminds me of characters in films who have no lines, wear dark shades and are badass killers.

Like that guy who shot Scarface in the back at the end of the movie...but I get a feeling Shockwave won't sneak around quietly

Mute Bumblebee is still annoying and Prime Soundwave has a whole season to build it up...And he's not in a movie series that is already lacking when it comes to Decepticon characterizations.

 

He turned down an offer to voice a character when Nobody asked him to. He has a sub par voice and Warner would be much better.

climax scene where in it,Optimus watches the humans and autobots fighting cons and Nest parachutes over shockwave and covers his face with their parachutes.

 

Wow, your saying Cory Burton has a sub par voice? Wow, just wow. Cory Burton has an excellant voice and has done a fantastic job voicing Shockwave since G1, but it would be awesome to hear the guy who inspired his take on Shockwave's voice, David Warner, voice him in DOTM.

 

im getting a darth maul vibe from shockwave. he doesnt talk, he is an assasain (spelled wrong?), he is all over the merchandise, and he is a total bad ass. love it.
