I think he looks a bit too buff to be Ratchet.
Works for Ironhide, but not for him.

 

Man, that red gun is tacky. I also will have to give him a grey forehead plate.

 

I like it and will have two! I hope we see some confirmation of the Red Alert coming otherwise I will have to get the henkei one.

Erm, not really, it's just that the wheels weren't folded into the backpack, you could do the same for Ironhide.

or you could just grab a can of gray spraypaint and paint the red weapon and save yourself $20+. takes more than a tiny weapon to make me pay import prices whens theres a perfectly good one down the road at walmart

 

I REALLY wish they could've given us a comic accurate head on this one (red helmet/white crest). Henkei is getting the cartoon head, so why couldn't they have just swapped the colors on this head? *sigh* Will still buy. Now hurry up with Red Alert.

 

Yeah, but I've said elsewhere that the chrome weapon/tool-sword thing actually suits a surgeon.

And it's not only the weapon that's influencing my choice, I believe the Henkei had less black on it as well.

 

yeah, the Henkei version was pretty dramatically different in terms of paint aps (not as much as Smokescreen, but still)

 

is this the same Ratchet we're talking about? How come the Robot's chest looks so different from the vehicle? headlights are different, front end different. If the robot is a remold of ironhide, who's the SUV parked next to him?

 

because the chest is the back of the SUV not the front...

 

I'm glad to see Ratchet getting some love from Hasbro... even if the execution isn't perfect. It is a delux version of an 84-85 Autobot Car, so that pretty much means I plan on getting it.

 

I want to get this one but i want an easy way to fix the head the head is the one thing that is really bothering me.

 

Why paint blue windows at all? why not just leave it white or make it look more like the Movie white repaint in terms of logos, wording etc?  

I'm not much into either version so far in terms of Henkei or US. but since I am a collector of only the US versions of these toys I'm gonna pick it up, let's hope his face is at least silver lol

 

if you look the wheels are out near the waist instead of the roof and that makes the head go up more i think it has the same problem

Ahhh yes, the old "Hasbro gives us such craptacular toys these days that surely it is a blessing as we can buy stuff to kitbash and customize the figure into something that will actually not make your eyes bleed" mentality.

Why, it is just absolute loony that we as collectors would want ... dare I say it, QUALITY toys again.

What did Optimal Optimus say, oh yeah: "Die-cast metal, it's a lost art."

 

 

And thank goodness for that. Last thing I want is diecast metal in my toys. Binaltech and Titanium showed that flaw easily.
