So, quick question about Starscream - is the smile mutilation by Hasbro or is it supposed to be there?

If so, sweet. He looks better in these pics.

Starscream looks somewhat better. Still like the manic smile he's got there. Not so great overall, though...

I REALLY like Ratchet. He's got this "wise man" look to him, which seems perfect for a doctor. Full approval.

I like Ratchet, I like him a lot, but every time I see Starscream it kills me that he has so much bot kibble on his underside, especially for a toy that size.

There needs to be a bigger version of Screamer, I think. Also his arms need to lock in place more securely in this version. I dunno if he actually looks better than last time, or if people are just starting to finally get used to him, but I agree that it doesn't seem as WTF-worthy as it used to.

Ratchet, as always, is looking awesome.

Starscream still looks more like a YF-22 than an F/A-22. It's like he's a YF-22 shape but with an F-22's details engraved.

Starscream is actually looking better to me. Can't wait to see a final painted one.

    Huh

What is up with starscreams face? Does half his face get blown off in the movie or something?

They do that to test shots sometimes to discourage taking them and selling them on eBay. Two-pack Classics Megatron had a paint splat on half of his face when we first saw him too.

Let me be the first person to say this, so it never gets asked again:

It's deliberately defaced by the factory.

Well, Ratchet is looking better with each picture I see. Starscream too, though I still don't care for it.

    IMPORTANT!!!!:
The red splotch is an intentional defacing of the test shot, to discourage collectors from wanting it.

Also, now seeing that Starscream doesn't have a big goofy red grin. He has a flightmask mouth on the center of his face.

Definitely getting Ratchet. Hes a great looking figure. Can't say the same for Starscream. My least favorite Movie toy so far. I wouldn't pay retail for him at all.
