I don't like the placement of the TakaraTomy sign. Don't know why they didn't go with the bottom right corner like Takara did in the past. I might actually get that Soundwave because of the vintage box.

I can't wait for these to start shipping. Any info on the release date?

They do look nice, but I already have each of them as originals (not to mention numerous reissues of Convoy & Starscream). I'll pass until they start releasing toys that still interest me enough to buy them.

Ah, not keeping the old numbering scheme D-16, D-22 etc...Being numbered as it's own series.

I'm getting the page but no pictures. Does this SOUNDWAVE have his original chest configuration or the Takara reissue (Soundblaster) version with the external hinges?

the external hinges arent from soundblaster, they're from soundwave. there are vintage soundwaves with the external hinges. I had one. When the debate first started, someone even managed to find pictures of a boxed vintage soundwave with the external hinges. he existed, but was apparently rare as hell.

Kinda bugs me that while we know prime has tampograph autobot symbols, we have no idea what changes were made to the others. although it looks like starscream has tampo decepticon symbols on his wings. soundwave might have a tampo symbol too.

So, these appear to be fairly bare-boned compared to the Collection series. No extra accessories like Megatron's mace, Optimus' axe, Starscream fist with Megatron gun, etc... No real reason to buy these if you have previous editions. Still, it's nice these are out for those who need 'em. Have we confirmed any remolding? Is it mostly just the imprinted faction logos?

We saw prime out of box at ACtoys, and there's no remolding. these look to be just straight reissues with the addition of painted symbols on some of them.

I just hope they continue the line with some that we may not have had reissues of yet.

Still tempted to get a Prime and Megs to keep MISB.

Soundwave's box is nice...almost nice enough to make me run out and pre-order him as well.

Like someone said though, I don't like the positioning either of the new Takara Tomy logo.

Also, with the new numbering system they've started w/ the first 4 Encore editions...I wonder if that means we'll be seeing more in the near future? Frankly, I'd rather see the return of the 'book style' reissues with newer IDW art.

I think these look beautifull. I have the original Prime and TRU Reissue, and this will be my first Megatron since my original died in a terrible moving acceident in '87. But despite having that Prime mold already (accept for the slight changes) for some reason, I am just really excited about them and what is to come later. I guess when the last time they were reissued, I wasn't really actively talking to other TF fans or on any kind of forums, so I think this is great.

    Yawn.

Someone should take a hammer each and every one of those molds. Maybe that will force TakaraTomy to come up with something different for a change. TT is running neck and neck with Capcom on who can recycle the same thing each year. Actually, I think TT may have passed them now.

Oh, you know what'd happen then.

They'd reverse-engineer new molds and double the retail price. ;)

Question is, are these really taking up "release slots", so to speak? I am happy they are reissuing them again, and they can do it as much as they want and I am glad people can get them that haven't before. BUT, if they are reissuing them in place of some new and better things- or molds they haven't reissued often, then I would want them to stop rereleasing these.

Me too. I know why they release Starscream, Megs, Prime, Soundwave, etc every time they do reissues, but they really are getting old. I want some new reissues that we've never had before.

I'll save my money for Animated unless I can get these on the cheap.

I don't care how many times they reissue these four, I'm still getting them. :D  It's great for us who missed out on previous reissues!
