I like Ransack. Having a biplane is pretty damned novel and I think they did a fine job with limited bulk.

Also, kudos to Hasbro for somehow managing to keep all of the "real" ROTF toys under wraps. I mean, it's 2009 and we've only *just* seen some leader-class Prime. Otherwise just a bunch of non-movie basics. Oh and some sort of Soundwave. Pretty good job keeping a secret.

 

Huh... can't say I like them too much now. They both look pretty mistransformed so I'll wait for better transformed pics and a video review or two to see what's up with these guys. Still probably pass on the biplane though... novel idea, but I'm just not much into skeletal Transformers.

I have a feeling that correct transformation and competent photography will reveal Depthcharge to be almost awesome in both modes. The glaring issue is the boat hull legs. There's no excuse for that. Also I'm not crazy about the colour scheme, and he looks like he's wearing some sort of funny hat.

Ransack, on the other hand, well I knew this guy would have an awkard bot mode. Biplanes are cool, but I really think that mediocre bot mode was a given with something as fiddly as a biplane and the limitations that come with scout class.

So yeah, I can see these figures have their issues, but it wouldn't surprise me if I wind up getting them anyway. Obviously they're not great, but I doubt they're quite as bad as they look here.

Depthcharge looks something awesome, but the legs HAVE to be mistransformed, or else he is instant fail for me.

Ransack is awesome. Period. He's a sort of homage to G2 Ransack being a plane and all, I guess. The logos are really neat, too. I'd criticise the overall build of the figure, but he's clearly mistransformed (if you look at the back-shot, one of the flap-thingies is clearly visible while the other is totaly hidden. Plus it looks like there's seams in the legs that weren't touched in TF'ing him.) I'll probably be nabing him regardless if he sucks or not.

 

Other than looking like he's on stilts, I think Depthcharge gets the vote on this one...not even going there on Ransack...

 

I think I will be very picky on these toys.
