Thanks to edbomber for the heads up on this one...
So he has GF Excillion's head.... interesting.
I certainly hope they improve his damned chest plate attachment to the side panels...
It sure doesn't look any different. Now while they remold Alt's commonly have they ever fixed any design flaws before?
Very odd that they would take the time and effort to mold a brand-new head for Hotrod....and then make the head not look like Hotrod. I guess this is BT/KissPlay Exillion then. *shrugs*
did they fix the same prob with kiss convoy?
just a hunch, but i doubt it.
Sweet! This is one Kiss figure I definetely want!
Unless Hasbro releases it first.
Not that I can remember... actually, thinking about it, some of them have been worse. Wheeljack's ball joints come to mind...
Yes, they fixed Decepticharge, so that his arms could swivel forward without damaging them
Yes, or at least they did for the BT versions. From BT-01 Smokescreen to Silverstreak, they improved the leg folding transformation. I'm not exactly sure what they did but it was far easier to fold up Silverstreak's legs than Smokescreen's. At first, I thought I got the hang of it but such was not the case as BT-01 is still a pain when transforming his legs.
how is Decepticharge any different then windcharger? I mean I am looking at them and there is no difference in the arms at all.
If what Onslaught says is true (sorry, I don't have Decepticharge yet), a change to fix something does not have to be drastic. It can be as little as a slight dimensional change to fix a problem with the mold which caused pieces to rub or smack into each other.
I'm looking at my BT Smokescreen and BT Silverstreak legs now and I can't spot anything inherently obvious in terms of design change. I'm gonna have to get my calipers from work, take the legs apart and examine the dimensions because I just don't see it visually, so it must be something small and slight that makes a huge difference.
There was also a change in Ricochet on the WRX mold... Albeit small... The place where the two abs panels link up to the front part of the car is molded different where the clips are... Silverstreak and Smokescreen have the same clips, but Ricochet's is different... The way Ricochet's clips are changed helps it hold the front end of the car and the midsection better...
And no, I don't believe they improved Kissplay Convoy in any way compared to ALT OP... I do believe the chest plate is just simply held on by friction from the little plastic tabs on each side of his chest...
I hope we get an Alt with that head in the US, even though his name will probably be Autocharger or something like that.
Fantofan also has a pic of how MP Starscream changes hie facial expression. The head lifts up, the face rotates inside to change to the smirk. Pretty sweet idea.
Well, i don't know about BT's since i leave the misb, however I did notice the difference in ricochet vs the other two wrx alts. THe legs on streak vs smokescreen on the alt seem to me to be just as hard to collapes down, however manuvering DC and WCs arms reveals nothing to me...the seem the same.
what i wanna see are the colors... flames? .... and what the hell the fishing pole is going to do.
That looks awesome, Im planing to buy that!
Are you sure it isn't held by Melissa/Marissa's kissing power?
Oh, Onslaught is correct. Windcharger could not pivot his arms forward. I had to got at it with a file and a knife to get mine to work. Decepticharge required no alterations, his arms pivoted out of the box.
What I want to know is why we are seeing a grey proto for this. I mean, aside from the head, nothing has changed, so it's not like we're seeing a new mold or something. I wanna see the red!!!
