I don't get comments like this. I really don't see anything in this that looks any different from what the films have already been doing.

He has a more solid feel to him, instead of random armor plating here and there with most of his smaller bits on display. This already is a huge departure from the other movie bots, since they tend to have mostly inner workings on display with only a few pieces of armor here and there. Bonus points for letting it all look like they're actual firetruck pieces too, unlike Optimus who mostly has 'standard' robot pieces (though he loses some for the random cable attached to one shoulder and cab window). Then there's his more humanoid appearance with a face that, like Prime's, is alien but still more human then most of the other movie bots.

Yeah, again, I still don't really see that big of a difference, compared to what most fans seemed to hate about the movie designs. But hey, whatever justification seems to work for people.
