This is the teaser poster he's referring to, which Chris Ryall posted back in December.

Could this be what will follow Devastation, or could it be another in the vein of Hearts of Steel?

    Interesting concept either way.

    :O No Autobots on Earth?

Interesting concept. I hope to see something really dark (hopefully with an horde of badass toys to go along with it), but the idea of no Autobots at all still seems so odd to me.

... Maybe the Autobots will be in outer space battling it out instead of Earth?

It's definetly in an 'alternate universe' as there ARE autobots on Earth in the main IDW storyline.

Strange though that IDW tries again with a Con-centered story after Megatron Origin - hope this one goes better (I wish they'd have kept Megs Origin in an alternate continuity).

Anyone has any info about the author? While I'm not the one to pass judgment on someone without reading any of his TF work, IDW's guest writers, save for Nick Roche, proved to be a dissappointment especially when compared to Furman's work - remember the Avengers Crossover or Hearts of Steel?

I assume it'll be a case where there will be Autobots eventually, but the previous history of where they are preceeding that will be completely different. If the Autobots do show up, I'm sure it wouldn't be until the Decepticons have completely enslaved all of Earth and are using humans to battle the Autobots.

I'd also guess that this would be more of an Evolutions subtitled series, ala Hearts of Steel. Given that Furman isn't writing it, I think it'll be in a separate timeline.

All this fits in with the March solicitation for the "Focus on Decepticons" special.

I have a feeling that this series will focus on human characters as opposed to being all about how "badass" and "win" the Decepticons are.

Yeah... I'm worried about humans portrayed capable of taking down Decepticons...

I'm interested, but after Megatron: Origin I'm going to wait for the reviews.

Could be interesting. I mean the Ramjet Spotlight issue was pretty good so it should at least be worth a shot. That and it's just nice that IDW knows there are Decepticon fans out there so we get cool stuff instead of getting shafted just because we like the bad guys better.

But what if the Autobots are leaving Earth after the events of Devastation and this is a mainline story. I would love that.

It's possible. From what he's said previously, however, Simon Furman seems to have suggested he'll continue on as the writer for the current ongoing G1 arcs. If Simon will continue to write the post-Devastation arc, then this is an alt-timeline type series.

While it could be the arc following Devastation, my guess is that we'll have another break following Devastation (like how we had between Escalation and Devastation), with this series/mini-series being the filler.

Sounds fun. Since I've kinda started liking Megatron more, this will be a treat.
