I think it would look better with a little less yellow, but it still looks nicer than my initial impression. Think I may grab this one and not bother with the upcoming Premium series BB.

Seriously, if I ever got one of these Camaros in real life, I'd have it painted like this.

Meh, still not impressed... his vehicle mode looks nice but so much of his robot mode is hidden and still yellow that he barely looks any different transformed, if he didn't have the battle mode helmet he'd be virtually unchanged in that mode.

The idea of molding a car in color and then painting the entire thing is so novel. I like it. The head IS a little wonky though. That's easy to fix.

The vehicle mode in the pictures DOES look slick, but I'm just not thrilled enough to buy it for the only new bit - the headsculpt. Especially since I'll likely nab the Premium Bumblebee when he hits.

I'm still pretty much SHOCKED to see that he's still in yellow, but painted black.

I mean, doesn't that seem, I dunno... a little stupid?

This might be the one deco of the Concept Camaro mold that I'll actually purchase.

The bot mode looks so much less crummy this time around...

Maybe they overproduced 08 BumbleBees because so many people were complaining about them being hard to find, and eBay sellers were scalping and hording the things like mad.

To make up for the excess/overproduced stock and to save some $$$ AND to make some $$$, Hasbro took the overstock, painted it black, and slapped on a new head that they KNEW people would buy the figure just for that specific part, so they could swap it out with the unmasked head on 08 BumbleBee.

If Hasbro's main goal is to make money, then it makes perfect business sense to me.

all the black pieces are molded in yellow, and painted black. Why? Maybe black paint was cheaper then getting black plastic and they had leftover yellow? I have no idea though

wait a tick i know why!

    its so obvious

it would take a bajillion coats of yellow paint to put those stripes on over the black................ alright that makes sense, mold it in yellow and remove paint instead of applying to make yellow stripes

its a shame they have to release 2 different molded heads, one with and one without battle mask. dont know why it would be so hard to have made it originally with battle mask that could move up and down.

it looks like SOME of the black is in fact plastic. the hood pieces, the yellow looks like its paint. Granted the roof parts on the arms is definitely yellow painted black. Its really easy to see its yellow paint on the hood in the close-up in robot mode.
