How come news like this seems to get overlooked in the 3rd party news section? The title for the section clearly says "Keep up with all the unofficial, unlicensed products that are compatible with Transformers. Includes updates on FansProject, Crazy Devy, Igear, Perfect Effect, TFClub, WST, weapons upgrade kits, armor add-ons, and even scratch-built all original figures." A company that had delivered dozens of new WST toys releases a new WST, and no mention?

I think it might be partly due to the last few new releases just being repaints. How many versions of this guy are out there now? Its neat for those that like all the exclusive repaints but Im more looking forward to actual new bots like wst sixshot.

Well, since the original Deep Cover was a recolor of Sideswipe, it's not like this is a stretch. People paid good money for a rare ehobby exclusive recolor in the day.

    For the record:

Takara did Swipe (Sideswipe) and Alert (Red Alert)

Heerotoysmaker then did Tigertrack, Deep Cover and Clamp Down, all based on the ehobby toys, as well as G1 and G2 Breakdowns to match the Botcon toys.

Personally I'd like to see a Shattered Glass (Drench) repaint too out of the mold before they retire it.

Heerotoysmaker didn't just copy the Takara design either, they improved it with guns and missile launchers, to match each of the toys, and added holes in the hands so he can hold them.

To elaborate on this a bit: the Optimus mold was the only Autobot with weapons among the original WST toys. The Decepticons had Megatron, Soundwave and the Seekers packing heat. It helps that the Decepticons' tiny weapons formed part of their tiny altmodes.

One of these days I'm going to set aside enough funds to buy from Heero Toys.
