You know this doesn't look half bad to me. I dont think I'm going to come out of it thinking it was so incredible, as I know I will with Iron Man and TDK, but it could be a pretty good movie.

That trailer actually puts some premise behind the movie. In a way, I wish it wasn't so much a comedy, as the theme itself could have some good weight. The scene with him in jail and the cutaways to the crime rising bits and the people realizing that as reckless as Hancock is, he makes a difference. It was a nice string of scenes.

The redemption of a fallen hero. Could b good. Again, with a theme like that, it's kind of a shame it's a comedy.

Well, I'm kinda hoping for the Comedy movie that takes a serious turn towards the middle, with touches of humor within. Superman Returns had a lot of humor, but had it's serious moments in between. Maybe a little bit of Men in Black, since the movie did have some serious moments as well. The movie is definitely labeled a comedy, but I guess we'll see. The Incredibles also had a lot of that, but ended up having its good moments too.

I like the idea of a superhero movie about what a real person with superpowers would actually do/be like.

I'm going to break the trend here and say this looks totally awesome. I like Will Smith as is, so even better.

    It did? :sly2:

I liked this trailer even better and it does look like an interesting premise (Slacker Superhero in need of Rehab).

Looks interesting. Dunno if I'll see it in theatres, though. Maybe a rental...

I could not agree more. Such a shame that Singer had Lex run the same scam from Superman II. Also, Superman Returns was supposed to deal with issues about being liked again by the public after returning but we only saw the lame emo subplot (Louis with bastard son).

There's an article in Sunday's NYTimes' movie section that says the marketing is actually overplaying the humor angle and that it's actually more serious/edgy than it's letting on. Rather than set out to make it PG-13...like oh, say recent/upcoming installments in several longstanding R franchises...they've sent it to the ratings board twice and it's come back with an R. They're trying to get it to PG-13 but at least they're approaching it from the other direction.

    Edit: Article linkage

Looks sick. It might be one of those "has funny moments in it but is mostly serious" movies.

Will Smith was made for this role.

The Iranian Guy? I watched the theatrical and it looked decent...for a Sandler film atleast.
