And it's... virtually identical!
I don't remember if the Hasbro one had the gold pinstriping on the thigh pods or not. Otherwise, beyond the purple 'Con insignia, yeah, they look pretty darned identical.
It did not.
Well, it not written anywhere that you have to buy all the Takara Animated. Blackout maybe the only Destron I order.
It might be the lighting, but it also looks bluer than the US version's purple bits.
Well, good to know there's something there other than turning the 'con symbol purple. Would'a been nice to add some paint to make the lips stand out from the face though.
One of the few I want!
Aside from the "toon accurate" con' insignia and virtually identical paint, I really dig the TFA Japan MOSC bubble packaging for Deluxe class toys. Blackarachnia's = aces! :
Wow! It's fucking nothing!
They didn't even needlessly chrome it up. Astonishingly lazy work, Takara. I figured you'd at least pretty up the closest thing the show has to a pin-up girl.
The back of the helmet is mostly painted, too. In the US version, the back half of her head is entirely clear plastic - here, it's painted with only the very top left open for the light piping of the eyes.
How is she a pin up girl..?
I said "Closest thing to" a pin-up girl. You gotta sell the show somehow, and sticking a pretty face on something is a sure-fire way to sell something. One would think that the lone female robot in the show, as well as the only female major character to have a toy would be that pretty face.
Ask the Dinobots.
I can't agree there, sorry. So far, the only things I'm liking about TakaraTOMY's effort more are the colored faction symbols and voyager Blackout. The rest Hasbro pwns with, but that's just my for what it's worth.
heh, "Decepticon Trickster"? Indeed
Look how far we've come with this character too
Really puts it in perspective.
Awesome now I am actually tempted to get one
I think the paint apps look really great, a lot neater than Hasbro's attempt, and I like the more coppery colored paint instead of the gold. That being said, still not worth paying for it over getting Hasbro's. Wait, is the purple darker than the original's?
But im more a fan of some of Hasbro's color choices, too.
Case in point = Grimlock.
I just think that the Hasbro Animated packages look fantastic and are very reflective of the product. I think TakaraTOMY's packages look too Henkei-ish and not reflective of Animated at all.
As far as the toys, I think that the metallic paint schemes fall into that same category as well.
the packiging of these jap ones is so much betterthan the habro ones, more striking,
