That General Hawk had better get a single-carded release...

So with the exception of Hawk, they're just crappy recolors of figures we already have. At least the Star Wars 2-packs had an artsy thing going with their crappy paint jobs.

General Hawk is a maybe. The rest are a pass, seeing as how vastly superior versions are alredy available ... well, blue Snake Eyes is a little tempting for some strange reason.

    Hotness.

The RAH style comic packs were, until 25th anyway, the best thing to happen Joe-wise in over a decade. However, I say that as someone whose first love other than Star Wars, before Transformers had even made it out of the Idea Department at Hasbro, was the GIJoe comic. Repainting frankenfigured/new part RAH style figures as they looked in the comic was friggin' brilliant, enough so for me that I bought two of ALL of them.
Guess I should have expected this. Probably read about it at some point but forgot since there were no pics to associate with the idea. That said, while I like 'em, they're missing the wow factor of having the (more-or-less) original toys painted up like they were originally depicted.
These three in particular are kinda hit and miss. Blue comic/toon Snake Eyes and yellow-highlighted CC look good for what they're going for. Hawk is more "1982 Hawk 2.0" toy than a comic version, which should be a brighter green, but I do reallyreally like it for that reason anyway. The other half of the respective packs are just okay.

Noooooooo, I was waiting for the SS & SE 2-pack and they end up coloring SE blue?

I like that at least SS is all-white.

I think they look decent. Something I would pick up in stores but not order online.

Since I'm kinda outta the loop on Joe toys, are the 25th anniversary style figures going to be used in any troop-builder 6-packs? I ask because I didn't know they were going to be used for the comic packs prior to this (and a 6-pack of the new Cobra trooper would be awesome!).

I want that CC sculpt but I didn't want to spring for the boxed set. Perhaps I'll get his 2-pack instead.

I'll probably pick up the issue 1 set for Colonel Hawk, but I was really hoping to see a v2 uniform Hawk somewhere in the line.

I hope that we get a Destro Baroness two pack down the line. Then I can die happily.

I will get the Hawk set, but I may get the Duke/ CC. The helmet has the Cobra insignia on it which is perfect.

I may buy the Scarlet/Hawk pack buy I'm not that enthused with the repaints so soon in the line. I hope a v2 Hawk is on the horizon.

Thats how Snake Eyes looked in the comic that he comes with (issue 21 "Silent Interlude). In that issue, and many of the old comics, he is shaded with spot black inks, but colored blue. In comics now, he is usually shaded with spot black ink, but colored grey.
5 packs, but the first troop builder is a cobra set with 3 cobra troopers(1 regular, 1 Stinger driver, 1 jetpack trooper) and Cobra Commander and Storm Shadow both in their VVV colors from 2004). This is the first so called troop builder, since the first 2 sets are of the main 5 Cobras and joes.
Aside from Hawk, the rest of the figures' color schemes are based on the color palette from the comics included with them.
