I don't really understand why some people are complaining about the blockyness of the figure. Did you really expect him to be smoothed out like the original? Personally I did not like the original rodimus prime from the G1 cartoon because he was to round and stood out among the other bots.

Now he looks great in my opinion. And thats just it, a preference. Maybe you guys overhyped yourselves to the point of this figure never being able to uphold your expectations.

But it is still amazing and a great piece. And I am not trying to bark at any one for stating their opinions. Anyways, just my two cents. I hope you guys end up liking this figure if you get it.

Fansproject's aesthetic has always had tons of angles and sharp edges, this is not new.

They weren't trying to replicate g1 rodimus, just like City Commander wasn't meant to replicate G1 magnus

It is their interpretation and stylized version of those characters.

If you don't like this, you are lucky. Takara and Hasbro have MP roddy coming out.

    I'm getting both.

No, that would only make me cry, because I missed out on it. I SO wish I would have heard about it before it was sold out.

I don't like Protector as much as City Commander but I still like it enough to trade a couple of other items in to help raise the cash towards it.

There you go. I wouldn't mind selling/trading some unwanted bots to get this. I'm just having a hard time justifying paying so much for it out of my own pocket.

And yes, I wanna see the Shadow Scyther set. I think this add on works much better as Shadow Scyther then Protector.

It is weird, I loved the prototype images over the last several months, but once I saw it in color and then painted, I lost all interest in this toy, especially for $90 (once you factor in the Targetmaster).

The leg parts on both of these Painted protos look like they are fitted wrong surely the yellow part on the feet is meant to line up with the black on the hot rod figure the henkei one is definateley out of place from the looks of it

You guys are all crazy. It looks WAY painted painted than the prototype pics. I mean, I guess it's fine that people don't like it, but I don't understand at all how you can't love it.

Mee Too. But I remember at times getting one of certain things was extremely difficult and these who don't want it are making it easier to acquire one.

Something I've noticed in all of these pictures is that Protector is never looking up, and hardly ever looking straight forward. What's up with that?

Totally man! yah good for everyone else to purchase, also sometimes pixs when taken looks waay better when seen in-person.

It's like some are judging it based on them pixs alone. I admit I'm guilty of that kinda behaviour too (when it concerns some TFs), but after seeing 'em up close, they looked different & nicer too.

BBTS still has 751 available for pre order, I hardly think anyone will be struggling to get one of these if they really want it.

Does anyone know if the difference between the Challenge for Cybertron version of Rodimus is THAT fundamentally different from the Classics version? I noticed that the black pieces on the Challenge version is more gray... am I seeing things or is that what I am seeing?

Challenge at Cybertron/Battle in Space Rodimus has cartoon based colours, so he's much brighter. IIRC, he doesn't have clear windows, either.

So I guess the black does get brighter to be gray? Ack, gotta spend on the classics then!
