They look more like The Deluxe Insecticons in their Beast modes to my eyes.

But to be honest they look like something to buy on clearance - I'd not be paying $80.00 for them that is for sure.

I just realised that Backfires shoulders end up as the tail end of the insect mode - there's some clever transformation going on there!

Also, the one thing that sells me on FP's stuff is the waist and ankle articulation - love it.

There is no way that they will cost $80.00 each. $40 is what I'm guessing (based on Munitioner and Explorer, which were $50 each).

And there is no such thing as clearance for Fansproject items. They will only go up in price.

Very nice. I love FansProject's work. These will make a nice addition to my season one Decepticon shelf.

personally, I think the price is debatable from that.

Munitioner and Explorer cost 50, but they also include a ton of accessories. Those accessories can't possibly only cost 10$, I would imagine around 2/5 of the cost is accessories in there.

Hence, assuming that the size and engineering level is the same on these insects as the crossfire scout bots, I would venture to guess them around 25-35$. Again, this depends on the size, accessories and engineering level of these buggers

Look great, but price is going to be the deal breaker. Anything over 30 and I'll have to pass.

The heads are the achilles heel of the figs, they don't look G1 enough, while I have bought other products less G1 these heads just look way off imo and the insecticon heads are very distinctive, price and head sculpt might be a deal breaker here.

I really can't believe that hastak has not nailed fans project or better yet hired them, either way I will buy these because it kicks so much ass and they do only shoot up in value.

But then again, FP have reached the point where they can build in a tidy bit of profit into their products, and they're bound to know it. I don't think FP is struggling and therefore their pricing is likely to be about maximizing their profit instead of guarding against a loss. I'd like to see $25-35 for each figure, but if they know that they can charge $45-$50 each and get away with it then I would expect them to. I also wouldn't be surprised to see another limited version run of some sort a la Shadow Scyther, just to see how high the price could go.

FP is also known for not showing everything at once, so there might be more as far as accessories go, which would change the price.

I am so gonna get these figures this summer. They exceeded my expectations on the overall appearence of these figures, especially their insect modes.
