Picked up the first issue as I have a craving for some Captain Britain. First: You need a lot of history to get whats going on most of the story. Second: Only Joss Whedon can write good British dialogue, this was fucking painful most of the time, cut it out. Third: OMGWTFBBQ?!
I avoided this like the plague. There was no way this would be a good series. Just an attempted cash in on the name and House of M.
I thought it was alright. I wasn't very lost as to the story, just what's going on with Captain Britian, but I was equally as lost in Uncanny. Also, I don't know what's going on with Wisdom and Kitty, but if that didn't read like one of the most forced, sexless things I've ever read, I don't know what did.
I didn't think it was all that bad. Didn't really capture the spirit of the original Excalibur, which I had hoped it would. Still, it's a damn sight better than the crap that was the last Excalibur. All in all a major letdown after the excellent start-up we got in Uncanny X-Men's HoM tie-in. Dazzler's hair reminds me fo a very cute girl I knew at my university. She pulled it off a hundred times better than Dazz does.
