I find it funny people bitched about Tomahawk's head when this Vortex has one of the worst heads I've seen on modern Transformers. But since it's Vortex and he has ground roots in G1 that's ok with everyone. Right? Maybe I'm weird, but Tomahawk's head and colors >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Vortex.
Hasbro might take advantage of the MechTech remolding, but as the (admittedly sparse) Engrish on the card-backs shows, these figures were clearly developed by TakaraTomy independently of Hasbro. Doesn't mean we won't see these, but they won't necessarily be exactly the same.

Damn you Japan and your exclusives! I kid of course, but somehow I'm doubting the exclusive part of it, especially considering that Hasbro had released this guy's head design on Tomahawk's instructions, meaning he's going to get a western release some way or another. Only other reasonable options are that they plan on using the head for a different character as opposed to Vortex, or they're just tryin' to piss us all off.
With all these Takara DoTM releases happening, it sounds like "Are we getting these?" is a good Botcon question to ask. Just for official confirmation. Vortex is one that I'd like to get, Air Raid as well.
