New bot mode pics make me go "hmmm", wonder if this is a sign of how much the 3D model for Prime will be changing for DOTM. Either way, I'll save some money and stick with the ROTF Leader.
I can live with the new transformation scheme, with the toy cheating with the windows and sculpting in a fake chest. It's a compromise for the gimmick. What I can't deal with is a fake chest sculpt that looks like somebody baked it in the oven.
Prime seems really Deluxe-ish. The paint, the transformation, the mold details, the slight disproportion, all seem to be just under what the Voyager Class typically achieves. Of course, I can't help but compare to BB OP (who I expected to be repainted a thousand times for this line), which really isn't fair. AND we still need to see this trailer gimmick.
yeah we need to see him with all his parts he appears to be missing alot of atachements maybe its a cheat chest cause we get the jetfire wrap around bits to hide it PLEASE LET THIS BE with out jetfire parts this toy is a pass
I'd like this mold so much more basically if it was another character/they changed Prime's character model to have no chest windows. If this mold had just a normal chestplate and not the slightly cartoonised fake chest windows it would be great. As it stands they slightly ruin it for me.
In trailer mode, Prime is going to Dwarf Megatron. Prime is just the cab, and Megs is the cab plus trailer...

Oh God. Now I can't even justify getting this thing. Accurate or not, it just looks so cartoony. The paint, the proportions and the giant head. I hope the trailer would turn out good though, but I'm not expecting nothing. If it doesn't have a trailer, his gun would look ridiculous on its own.
Nice to finally see Prime's Mechtech weapon, and it's just as ridiculously huge as I was expecting it to be, lol. As for talk of the trailer, I honestly don't think this is the one that listing was referencing. The list was Takara's listings, so it could be something we don't get initially. I also can't see this figure coming with a trailer, tbh (unless they're considering the Mechtech weapon itself the trailer...). Anyways, still definitely not going to get this figure. I actually like the panels on his arms and legs, and the chest doesn't bother me all that much anymore, but that head is just too large, and I've got a perfectly good Leader figure, so don't need a Voyager.
There might be a chance that the Voyager+ listing is the shelved/cancelled Unite for the Universe Prime w/ Jetfire armor. The armor add-ons sort of fit with the Mech Tech gimmick since it has a cannon mode.
When was it confirmed that was canceled? I haven't heard anything about it since last February, but that doesn't mean it's canceled.
Looks so much better in these pics. My main gripe was the shoulder canisters, so it's good to see they can move out of the way. I'll go against the crowd here and say that it looks better to Megatron to me. It may not be the best Prime figure, but it might be worth picking up. In regards to the complaints about proportions, I don't have a problem with them myself, but bear in mind that if it's a combiner, the proportions will have to work for both modes. I wouldn't want a pinhead Prime.
