That comment about the armour plating is interesting.

    That caught my attention too.

The more I see this guy and see people messing with it in little ways, the more and more I'm putting aside any issues I have with "accuracy" and thinking this is looks like a pretty Goddamn good toy.

I like dotm voyager Prime more since the hftd prime didn't really feel like a voyager to me. felt more like shrinked ROTF leader Prime.

Honestly, if I was interested in getting a Voyager class Prime for my movie collection, I would definitely get this new one instead of the HftD version. I've got Leader RotF Prime, so I've got accuracy covered. This new Prime looks like it would be really fun to pose and actually play with. Might even be fun to transform, lol. All-in-all a much MUCH better figure than the HftD version. Part of me is hoping that the Ultimate Prime w/trailer has this as the cab/normal Prime part to it. would probably convince me to buy the Ultimate figure if it was.

Oh, and for those wondering, no, I'm not on drugs:popcorn

The more I see this figure, the more and more I want him, though I'm a sucker for Optimus figures, 90% of my collection is Optimus.

I, too, found the comment about the armor plating on the chest interesting.

It doesn't look bad...much better than the two previous movie Voyagers IMO. But I don't need any more Movieverse Optimus Primes in my collection. We'll see, maybe I'd get it on clearence to add to my shelf at work.

Looks okay to me, might buy it, but I've never really been a HUGE fan of the movie-verse Optimus Prime toys.

I must say, with that comparison, HFtD may be more accurate, but the DoTM version looks more vibrant, eye-catching, and above all, fun! I don't have the HFtD, but I'll echo what Ravenxl7 has said and that is that I would pick the DoTM over the HFtD version.

This quote also has me intrigued:

    Excellent!

But did they finally find a way to give him a freaking waist joint?

He looks OK-ish... Still not a fan of those giant blue space boots.

And the last pic proved my suspicion ; Deluxe Starscream is basically the Breakaway amongst the DOTM toyline so far....

I don't know why people get so hung up about the lack of a waist joint. It's hardly a standard, just a bonus. And I personally feel that it's the most useless point of articulation, seldom assisting with balance or body language, and only ever having maybe 20 degrees worth of play before it starts looking awkward.

Because it makes the character look stiff if he can't ever turn his body? Especially for characters like Drift or Movie Optimus who swing melee weapons, it seems like a really lame omission.

That doesn't look remotely bad, or "simple."

Big surprise, hasty hyperbole based on the earliest pictures wasn't worth listening to? WHO KNEW?

Heh. This guy looks pretty damn good, actually. Sure, he's a little oddly proportioned, but a lot of pieces look very accurate. Those legs are the most accurate on any movie prime, and the chest looks pretty interesting. The arms are a little wonky, but I commend Hasbro for coming up with a new scheme for him. I like it, but I have my definitive Prime already. Still, a cool figure.
