The price certainly isn't surprising at all. About what I expected. Sill, I'm not ready to put fourth that amount of money for him, despite how good it really does look.

Man, for the quality the price is pretty much well worth it (although I would have liked fully articulated hands). I'm currently waiting on the Protector upgrade myself and don't want to preorder Defender this until I secure it. Plus, I'd think TFSource would be better for preordering, since them and Fansproject have been butt buddies and they typically get them shipping out first.

But that metal is gorgeous. Can't wait for the painted ones to start rolling in.

Well, I preordered one. Not sure if I'm going to keep it though. That's a lot of money for a 6-inch figure.

And please let's not have someone go into a long explanation of why it costs that much. I understand that, but it's still a lot of money.

Not too bad a price for that kinda stuff, but I'd still rather just have a (hypothetical eventual) Hasbro version for somewhere between ten and thirty bucks.

And sadly, it might be the cheapest now, as if it sells out, it will easily double in price within a year due to its limited run compared to mass produced figures. :lol

A custom toy....not an add on, but a well articulated, well sculpted, and well engineered toy with a triple changing ability...for that price?

    Preordered, my friends.

Sorry... I'll buy the upgrade kits, but this is too blatant... I hope Hasbro announces a fully featured Springer at Toy fair next year... I'd have loved it had they done an upgrade kit for Botcon Springer...

I'm actually surprised it's that cheap, given that this almost certainly has more moving parts than the City Commander Armor, which was roughly the same price, IIRC. I'm also incredibly surprised Hasbro hasn't put the kibosh on this yet...although maybe that's why they haven't released any full-colour images, to keep playing the "yeah, it's nothing like Springer!" angle as long as possible.

Personally, it looks decent and the price seems fairly good for this sort of thing, but I'll pass. I just don't have ~$80 to drop on a Deluxe any more, the 6" Titaniums have more than convinced me that diecast parts are a bad idea on small figures and I don't feel right supporting the infringement on Hasbro's intellectual property. Something like City Commander or Protector that requires purchase of a Hasbro product, yes, but not something like this.

    Bought.

    But not from BBTS.

I'll get it from Toy Arena.

LOL @ people whining about the price.

Well, I'd buy a Hasbro Springer in the Universe line if they'd make one. I bought the Evac repaint, and I like him, but make it a triple-changer like this one and I'd be ecstatic.
I can't give Hasbro my money if they won't make the product.

For a fully-painted, fully assembled custom toy that's really a steal.

If you're buying Defender, you have more than enough money to afford Hasbro products because you're an adult collector with a job or a kid with generous parents.

if you're buying Defender, you have more than enough interest to buy official Transformers products from Hasbro, provided they are worth buying.

I am an adult. I can afford Defender.
    I like transformers.
    I like this toy.

I do not like ROTF toys.

if Hasbro made this for $80, I'd buy it from them. But they can't make this at all for various reasons, so they can suck it, IP or not.

You want our money Hasbro? Make good shit. Bludgeon? Sure, I'm on that. Repaints of Universe Ultras? Pass.

    Its really not that hard.

This thing looks pretty awesome. I'm tempted to pre-order it, however I don't know about paying almost eighty bucks for a 6 inch figure. I have Alternity Cliffjumper/Bumblebee and Alternity Convoy, and sometimes I look at them, and I don't think they are even worth the fifty bones they cost, as awesome as they are.

My other apprehension on buying this guy is that, I know the second I order him...hasbro is going to come out with a badass voyager class Springer that triple changes for classics 3.0. I know that may never be the case, and one can only dream...but I know my luck, the minute I spend the money on this...they will.

Not all of us are as rich as you apparently are. $79 for a deluxe is a decent chunk of change.
