A little detective work is all it takes to debunk this one: The feet of the un-used Inferno design, with an extra toe to throw us off: Brawl's arm gun with an extra turret to throw us off (too bad whoever made this forget to change its colour to make it blend in with the rest of the bot): Barricade's hands with a finger bent à-la-Megatron to avoid suspicion: And finally, Bonecrusher's head flipped upside down, voilà: Besides, look at all the movie concept designs, many are drawn by hand and NONE use recycled parts from other robots. This is obviously a digital image, and obviously just a Frankenstein bot made of pieces of other TFs... and those guns from Star Wars! Still, very nicely done. It's a fake, but a very convincing fake.
If it is a real concept i bet it is a protoform for...hmmmm i don't know of the top of my head um... i don't know still it looks like it has the legs of brawl the arms of barricade and a combined torso and head of the two... Think about it
this guy is an awsome detective! I sort of agree, my thoughts now are(now that i know of some tfs) it's a constructacon, devastotor(highly doubtful), some other combiner, or a fake regardless its still cool
It's a very good fake but a fake none-the-less. Still, I'm interested in what the artist intended this bot to Transform into (if anything at all).
There's always a chance they may recycle CG models for cannon fodder robots. Just saying. Impressive collage though.
Well everyone has already pointed out things with all the detective work but I'll throw in one last things. If you look at the concept and early art work on the Autobots that have leaked so far it seems the movie look has taken some steps toward a more armored a little less busy. Unless the Decepticons are going to keep the first movie look instead of the improved second film look then this is really well excited fan art of the first film look.
that is someones attempt at soundwave undoubtedly right shoulder cannon semi similar face also the color of that balkan radio truck that was in the jester or jolin fan art that was done. There are some obvious cut and pastes under the arms that woul make me think its a fake. ya and now that i look at it there seems to be recolored parts of bumblebee and prime scattered through out the image. bumbelbee's calves and primes chest piece in the stomach of course like some have pointed out barricade hands.
Not the right style? It's bug like, and you can't tell what the hell it is. Of course it's the right style. But I agree it is a fake. The shoulder mounted guns do look familiar.
Ha. Ha. No. I could break down all the elements of the style that distinguish fan art from the actual concept art, but odds are you'll just go 'DUR HUR BUG UGLY BAY SUXXORS' and ignore it, so I won't.
That is absolutely true. There is a logic to these designs, and they are nowhere near as "messy" as fans think they are. Yes, they are complex and there is alot of detail, but each design has key features and design elements that, once you take all the gears and wires and stuff out, will still set it apart from the other TFs. Take the movie Robot Heroes for instance, all of which have been shrunk down and simplified, but they still look like the movie models. You cannot do this with most of the fan designs because they are just random car parts thrown on top of a robot silhouette. Just because it has a bug face and isn't shaped like a box doesn't put it in league with Ben Procter and the rest of the illustration team's work.
The more you look at it you realize its bits and pieces from previous concept arts cut out and colored diferantly even the toes are just cut and past then later airbrushed over. Definite fake with out a doubt unless they designers started getting lazy.
But it doesn't look like a bunch of boxes, or whatever brick was passed off as the toy version in the 80s. So it must be a mess... it is different and therefore must be roundly slated until the next different thing comes along. Etc.
nice piece of fan-art, shame was wasn't posted in the art section, the conversation would have been very difrferent then!
