From what research I did a while ago, Funimation has to wait for Fox to pass on it before they can do anything. That's what I got from my Google-fu but I can't say where I got this. So feel free to take this with a grain of salt.
About the dub: most of the original cast is back! I think one or two actors werent hired for the movie but the main cast who dubbed the series will be in the movie!!!
It was recently announced that Australia and New Zealand will be able to see the film in October via Event Cinemas Japanese Film Festival. So excited!
New trailer for Battle of Z game, which features English voices for the two new characters seen in the film. Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z - TGS 2013 Trailer - YouTube
I have two things to say about that trailer. First I want a character creator. Second it better have drastically better gameplay than Ultimate Tenkaichi.
I have to say that I find it really cool that they brought back Meredith McCoy as Android 18, Bradford Jackson as Oolong and even Kyle Hebert as the Narrator instead of having their Kai voices. Though Monica Rial is still Bulma (which is for the best).
Interview: Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods with Justin Cook, Chris Sabat, and Sean Schemmel - Anime News Network Nice tidbits.
I don't think Kyle Hebert's the best narrator. Doc Morgan's narration in Kai just sounds more natural as a narrator to me. Gotta love how they think their finished and then their's some DBZ related for them to do.
I loved the bit about Goku being in the haling pod so the actor had to borrow money from his pastor father. Well maybe not loved but smiled at.
Didn't really know where to post this, so I'll ask here. Anybody know a good website to watch old episodes of dragon ball ?
Just got back from movie and I loved it. If you want (*coughshamelessplugcough* ) I made a video of my impressions for my YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpwNuHA6J_A
Hey just curious, but did they use the original funrun Vegeta voice, or was it a different one. I know it was the orig voice actor, but in the trailer he sounded WAY different than what he sounded like in the original fun dub.
There were two dubbing studios running DBZ, Ocean and later Funimation. First it was Brian Drummond and Scott McNeill and later on Christopher Sabat took the role. It's Sabat in the trailer.
