So my local comic shop is closing after this Saturday. I've been going there since I moved to Colorado in 2006, so this is kind of depressing.

The comic shop I went to since I was 12 years old back in the 1980s changed hands. The old owner was super cool, knew everybody by name, gave discounts and deals on stuff for no particular reason other than to generate good will and customer loyalty. Which he did. The new owner is a snide sleezebag who treats customers like shit whenever he isn't trying to sucker some kid into spending way too much on something completely worthless by trying to convince him it is the next big investment. It would be comical if it wasn't do depressing.

To be honest, I'd almost kind of prefer my childhood comic shop to just be gone, rather than see it turned into something so sad and ugly.

I also just found out that the comic shop I was going to as a kid back in Buffalo closed down two year's ago. I mean sure, that was two year's ago, but since I just learned of it now, that still sucks. I know the owner had died ten year's ago and he left the shop in the hands of one of his employees, but I guess he just couldn't keep it open due to the digital sales.
