There has been alot of speculation on here if the Transformers Classics line was here to stay or if it's just a fill-in line.

Well the Classics page got an update. I personally hope the line is here to stay for a while and they keep introducing more and more new reissues to the line.

The fact that they took the time to update the page is hopefully a sign that they're going to stay for a while.

Hasbro has to see the immense popularity of this line. They're a business.....a business is all about the bottom line. If they want to make a ton of $$$$$ they should keep the classics line alive for as long as possible.

Like I said, they actually took the time to give the line a new page....so hopefully that's a sign of things to come.

As far as doing the characters some justice goes, this line is the best. I'm a G1 fan but, this line has finally made the original characters look the way they should......which is like the cartoon.

Can't they tell they're making a lot of money? For one they need to make more Decepticons, man the Autobots totally outnumber them -___-

That's a pretty weak website. Looks more like a couple of sub-pages that were just thrown together in about 10 minutes by a bored employee with zero design skills.

The positive side of things is that Classics is apparently considered an official "line" by Hasbro afterall, contrary to what some people have said here. Hopefully this means we'll be seeing more... eventually.

This is by far the best line we've had in years. Granted there are still some figures that Im not quite sure what they were thinking but there has the potential to be many good figures that could come from this, not to mention getting a full line of seekers that actually look like the cartoon counterparts.

Depends on how you play it. Will a little help from TTs, it boosts the odds well enough and meshes in quite well. There's always the imaginary Tcracker that is (hopefully) inevitable.

The Seacons would be an easy way to expand the Decepticon ranks. :hint :hint

That's the way it's always been hasn't it?

I mean look at the 1984 line:

    AUTOBOTS:
    Optimus Prime
    Jazz
    Wheeljack
    Prowl
    Bluestreak
    Ironhide
    Ratchet
    Sideswipe
    Sunstreaker
    Trailbreaker
    Mirage
    Bumblebee
    Cliffjumper
    Brawn
    Huffer
    Gears
    Windcharger

    DECEPTICONS:
    Megatron
    Starscream
    Thundercracker
    Skywarp
    Soundwave
    Buzzsaw
    Frenzy
    Rumble
    Ravage
    Laserbeak
    Reflector (3 guys)

More kids want to be heroes than villains anyway...

But yeah, more Decepticons in Classics!!!

Megatron, Starscream, Skywarp, Astrotrain, Ramjet and Reissue Soundwave (If we're counting him) are feeling pretty lonely...

Reflector didn't come out in 84 in the US. I believe he didn't show up here until 86, and even then it's questionable whether he should count since he was just a mail order item. But yeah, otherwise you're right on...Decepticons have always been and will always be outnumbered in the toys. Hasbro knows what sells and will stick to that.

You can tell how seriously they're taking the site by the fact that they put the only two bad new molds in the line front and center with the back-of-package photos that make them look even worse than they actually are, which is quite an accomplishment, and tossing the entire thing into the packaging template.

Nicely done hasbro. Ever consider hiring someone other than chimps with one hand tied behind their back to do photo shoots for toys?

I'm not normally a basher, but that page just struck me as all kinds of wrong. TransformersClassics.com seems much more professionally laid out. And, if history is any indication, more likely to stick around after this line has been wrapped up for good.

I'm praying that Classics Thundercracker won't be a BC exclusive, but a mass release. I'd be willing to bet money(enough to buy a soda!) that he'll be a BC exclusive.

personally, i'd love to see the classics line continue. IMHO, I think it's going to go away, or on hiatus, by summer time. With the huge amount of movie toys coming out, and then the TF:Heroes, I can't see hasbro doing anything with the Classics line. Unless they consolidate them all into one kind of packaging.

It's a better page than what they had set up before. Which was "See wave 1 classics" and "Preview wave 2 classics" Both linked you to a catalog that allowed you to order the toys.

Now there's games, downloads, profiles, where to buy, etc.

I agree that it's not the greatest but, it is certainly an improvement.

I'd rather see them focus on the Classics and movie lines rather that regurgitate some new, crappy line like Heroes.
