    Any one tried it yet?

I managed to play it for about 3 mins last night and am not quite sold on it yet. I have every other castlevania game that was released in the US and have played and beat them.

But were does this new game work in the time line?

Not sure where it fits into the time line yet (haven't taken the time to search), but I like the game play so far. Most of the reviews I've read say it doesn't measure up to Dawn of Sorrows, but is still a fine Castlevania outing and very hard!

What one is this, that fighting one?

EDIT: There's a new one out for DS? I totally missed that. I'll have to pick it up.

I've not the cash to pick this one up right now. We;ll see how the paycheck pans out but I'll be picking it up eventually. Word is the gameplay is solid and the fighting mechanism are robust but the boss battles are hard as hell. That last one has me dreading this game.

I'll forewarn you...this is the first really hard Castlevania I've played in a while. Circle of the Moon on the GBA was easier than Order of Ecclesia!

Yeah, I died a few times fighting that tower boss. This game rocks.

So far, its ok. I'm only about an hour or so in, but I am a little dissapointed in the lack of any personality for the main character and the way the background don't have the interactive touches that the past couple have had.

I like it so far. But I do not like the concept of a lot of little spread out areas you need to explore (I hope that made sense). I like just one massive castle.

I don't mind them spreading things out, but the level designs for these smaller areas are lackluster so far. I am still not to far, but I'm unimpressed by the layout of the areas, especially after Portrait or Ruin and Dawn of Sorrow were pretty impressive in that category.

Yeah the zone design or layouts are nothing special. I am currently stuck on the boss at the prison island. Very hard, but still fun.

I just got the game yesterday, and I played through until the Prison. I'm getting murdered trying to pass through those spotlights.

Theres a big castle that has several areas inside so I guess theres that. But I think its smaller than Dawn of Sorrow's castle. I'm enjoying it so far. I wish Alastor was brought back as a familiar though.

This is a game I truly love and hate. I've never died this many times in ANY Castlevania game. I've literally come close to pulling my hair out; and I beat Portrait of Ruin with dying once until I got to Death. haha. I love it's killing my love of video games.

THis game is quite a challenge, not quite painful, but not a breeze some of the previous game have been either.

Finally. Castlevania is oldschool HARD again. Not quite so swear inducing as Megaman 9, but I've certainly uttered a few profanities against some of these bosses. But the death of the giant crab is supremely satisfying.

Smashing the crap out of that crab WAS extremely satisfying. I approved.
