    Hey everyone!
This is my first post here, but i've been checking out all the cool posts for a couple months now.

I recently bought one of the Kre-o large optimus prime sets, and it was a hella fun build. But of course I WISH that it transformed! I set myself the challenge to see if I could do this, and to get more hinges and spare parts, I bought a second set (they're on sale here in Australia for $29 each, score!).

I had the flu for a week or two, so I had a HEAP of resting at home time, and this project became sort of my waking hours focus, ha! It was suuuper tricky hey, I would test building sections separately (like the shin and foot or the chest windows) and they'd work well on their own, but not together as a combination.

A few times during the process I would get so bummed because it seemed like it wouldn't work out.

But then I lucked out with an idea for splitting the cab for optimus' chest piece, and from there the split bonnet came to work out, and somehow (I swear I don't know how) the rest of the truck and robot sloooowly added onto these bits and actually fit.

My aim was to make it transformable, but to still keep the truck looking good, AND the bot looking good. It's not perfect but i'm really chuffed with the results.

Enjoy and comments and feedback welcome!
    Thanks,
    Nice to meet you all,
    Jozaeh

Wow, nice work, dude. Very cool.

That's just parts from the two Prime sets?

    Hey Hobbes,
Yep, just pieces from two prime sets. And actually the only pieces that I really used from the second set are the extra hinges (ALL of them!), some of the small 2x1 silver flat pieces, the grill pieces, the two headlight sets, the standard 4 x 4 flat pieces, and a few others. I'll pack it up soon and actually see what I needed to use.

But nice! I'm glad you liked it! It was such a fun challenge to build.

    Hey jazzman,
Ah yes! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Oh gosh, such headaches trying to figure it all out. And for every little burst of happiness, there was an equal drain of dissapointment when a section would fail. ha!

And I agree with your subline, keep em coming Hasbro!

Ah yes! Nearing the end of building this, I was thinking "oh no, if this works, some people would like to build one themselves (which I would too!), and how the heck can I make instructions?!"

I'll see what I can do mega, maybe even take photos of each section to show the pieces that they're made of, and from there you might be able to work it out easy enough.

Take it apart piece by piece, and take photos as you do it.

When you're done, you'll have an instruction book to use to put it back together again.

    In theory...

Ok, not waiting for instructions, starting to build this thing right now based on what I can see and see what I can improve. Should be a fun ride!!

(Btw, I like that he has more blue on the torso, makes him look different!)
