Buzz (pun intended) on Social Media are overwhelmingly positive. People who had skipped movies says they are willing to pay and see this on the theater. Travis and Hailee are both amazingly creative people.

There are few who doesn't want to give it a chance because it's not a Bay movie. But I say "Give Knight a chance". He has impressed me with the work he has done at Laika. He has proved again and again how to tell a story with a limited cast and a budget.

There's a serious likelihood that Bumblebee may become the highest rated, critically praised Transformers movie thus far. May not be a box-office record holder but may shed a positive light on the franchise again (in the eyes of the general public).

I hope rotten tomatoes score is somewhere between the 70% 80% or 90% & 100%... Bumblebee might be the most critically positive Transformers yet since 1986 TF cartoon & 2007 TF first live action movie, from a director who directed his first live action film :D

I really hope this prequel does well and convinces paramount/hasbro not to reboot, what the bayverse needed was a new director who could give us more in a transformers movie than mindless action. If they decide to make a sequel to the last knight with a new director than i feel like people will be more open to it after bumblebee and depending who they hire, the bayverse could be redeemed into great movies with heart and story while still keeping the continuity of the previous films.

I'm not holding my breath, but I'm also not completely dismissing the possibility, how ever slim it might be.

Personally, unless things really go sideways, I think most critics will treat the movie with a mildly cynical disposition, given the past few movies. I don't see it making anything past a 60% at best on RT, somewhere around 50 more likely.

They had that chance after DOTM. AOE (Or whatever a new director would have called it.) was the one single moment to turn around the current movie franchise...Now, after TLK, there's nothing left to work with. TLK was a creative dead end. They would actually have to use this Bee film as a soft reboot to have any hope of being able to do anything with this franchise now. Beyond that, the only other option is a full on reboot.

But what if the critics like the movie?

I’m hoping that they do a full on reboot from this since I’m already liking the direction the series could take.

Actually with a competant writer/director their is a lot of opportunity after the last knight: Unicron is now in the mix, Optimus called in any surviving autobots to cybertron and if Megs does the same than we could get an idw style end to the live action films with unicron transforming (thus killing all humans) and a final battle on cybertron finally ending the bayverse on a (hopefully) positive note

If you would like to discuss ideas on how to fix TLK you can post some on the thread I made about the exact topic: The last knight was shit, let’s make it better.

Honestly if this goes well, just make a new story around this. Get in some more characters and what not, maybe connect and keep doing this whole shared hasbro universe thing. I think this could lead to greatness.

Yeeeah, no. They're not going to make that movie. They're just not going to ever make a mainstream theatrical released transformers movie like that. I'm sorry to the naive fans who actually think that's a possibility but the only reason live action TF films exist is to have a human cast along side the cool transforming car robots. They're never going to be anything beyond that.

And didn't they destroy cybertron in the movies?...Like, twice?

You might think I'm crazy...but uh...I think Travis Knight should at some point be the voice actor of this new version of Bumblebee. I mean if this is a reboot.

Well when he said: "I'm a child of the 80s..." and with this VW in the background with the headlights shining like eyes I got the feel as if the car itself was talking...I dunno how to describe it.
