Is this the same as that Star Wars Vault coffeetable book? Sounds like it, and if yes, I'm really interested. :)

Meh. Until I actually see pictures of what it looks like, It's a easy pass for me, because I already have the Ultimate Guide from DK. Also, Amazon, Please try to spell Transformers right. I'm sure it's not ransformers.

If it approaches the quality of the Allspark Almanacs then I'd be all over this. The chance to get some looks at some cancelled toys is always appreciated. :)

If this is anything like The Batman Vault, which I have, it's a definite purchase for me, and I already have the Ultimate Guide as it is.

Deliberate hyperbole is different from actual misspelling. :)

I don't really care to see G1 unreleased toys, but I'd be interesting in seeing anything after Beast Wars - including the sketches for Transtech and the unreleased prototypes for Animated.

This is in an entirely different category than the "Ultimate Guide". If this is a TF version of what the Star Wars vault book was, then it's a true "coffee table" book. It should prove to be quite rich with information, full of real world history, of the entire franchise. The "Ultimate Guide" I found to be far from ultimate, too basic and geared toward the younger reader/fan and a bit skewed to Furman's perspective on the mythology.

The "Vault" should prove to be a nice little historical tour of everything TF.

I believe the TF Vault will be a much more professionally done book than the DK TF guides. Hopefully the Author will use the Star Wars vault as a guide for this book.

Haha thanks. I've got the TFA book on the way, but I was hoping this new Vault book might have more unseen prototypes from those series and others. A lot of TF encyclopedias are G1 oriented and while that's cool, I'd like other series to get a behind-the-scenes book too.

I'll have to research this Star Wars Vault book to see what to expect from this new TF one.

Well, yeah. The release date is currently set for June 1, 2011.

Here's some commentary on the Star Wars one with some pics. http://www.slashfilm.com/cool-stuff-the-star-wars-vault-the-coolest-book-of-2007/ It's very impressive, and an entirely different kind of thing than the DK Ultimate Guides.
