    Is this carrying on from the original anime or is it a new series starting from the beginning and covering more material? It's a series I've always wanted to check out but 20+ years of manga is pretty daunting.

    I'm excited about where this could go, but I'm disappointed that it just retelling what happened in the anime. I really need to catch up on the manga, I've read most of it, but haven't read it in a couple years so I'm out of the loop.

    The first ova is going to be released in January, and then there will be ova's. It's going to be more manga accurate, similar to what they've done with the Hellsing OVA's, and Full metal Alchemist Brotherhood.
