Anyone here reading the new JLI series? How is it?
Not as good, the old one had that we are all friends and we've been together for years feel, while this is most of us are strangers and don't know each other. Plus they aren't after Max Lord which is confusing as that was the main point of the last series.
It's competently mediocre. It isn't bad by any means, but it isn't particularly good either; it's just sort of... there. So pretty much par for the course for a book written by Dan Jurgens.
Well, looks like I'm going to pass.
I've been enjoying it for what it is. It's certainly not the Giffen/Dematteis run, but it's been fairly good. There's been enough there to keep me interested.
Reboot, my friend, reboot.
I know, but with that gone it went from a good title to a boring one.
Boosters motivations and Batman's reasons for supporting him don't make sense now that that is gone.
And as of this week
Rocket Red is dead and Vixen, Fire, and Ice are at least benched for a good long while.
I'd drop the book right the hell now if I wasn't a JL completist.
The only reason I'm buying it is because with the reboot, I have no Booster Gold title. So this is my only Booster fix.
I miss time traveling Booster
So do I
Same here. It was really nice seeing him in various time periods of the DCU, and working with DC characters we don't see anymore or hardly ever see.
THIS. This right here.
If you need me, I'll be in volume 2.
Well Booster does have a TV show coming possibly, so they will more than likely have to put out a comic to go with it.
Why do they always kill him? Isn't this the 3rd incarnation? I know the first had kids too. They spent so much time making the new one in the last mini series interesting. Now the new writer kills him off quickly.......for a stunt. What I hate about comics these day arbitrary killings and little or no time character building. They are just heroes, and they spend no time on the personalities and personal lives of the characters, and if they do, chances ar the character will quickly be dead.
Technically there are a lot of them - there was a full Rocket Red corps back in the 80s. But yeah, Gavril was the third major one. The first was a Manhunter who was quickly offed in Millenium and the second was the incredibly awesome Dmitri Pushkin.
I got in late to the party on the booster gold title so I am looking for back issues now. One of the comic shops had a dollar sale and I picked up a few.
That is why this thread interested me but I guess I will pass.
