Yup...That's true I never owned a Masterpiece before...But that was long before I even knew about them at time, I was just here to ask not..Exactly who or what is the best Masterpiece figure, but more of a Who's a really great MP that stays true to their persona/Character, and I know most of it comes down to who is your favorite character that your willing to buy, I was thinking of buying, Grimlock..But I can't shell out that much cash on a single TF reason being I'm still a Teen in High School only a year left, but I'm really looking at the new upcoming MP-13 Soundwave. Is there any certain flaws, weakness, or just plain disappointment when it comes to a, Masterpiece? I would like to hear inputs from the community since I really want my first purchase on a Masterpiece figure to be not a disappointment.

Personally, the only Masterpiece I've ever been disappointed with was Megatron. I own all the Seekers from Takara Tomy, both Walmart Masterpieces, the TRU MP Rodimus and Grimlock, and two from iGear (well, they're not really Masterpieces per say, but they're like KOs of them with improvements?) and I've been happy with them all. As for any flaws or weaknesses, I can't really say I've been so nit picky as to find any. Megatron's legs kinda stuck out like a sore thumb as a disappointment.

I'm looking to get the MP Soundwave as well. He looks decent, but I guess I'd know for sure once I get him in hand.

By far the best is still the original Optimus one.

the two molds that get the worst flak seem to be the original starscream, optimus and megatron. hasbro rodimus was pretty terrible as far as QC goes, but i've no idea how the takara version was.

If you want the best masterpiece, I would say Grimlock.

If you want to buy a masterpiece on a budget, I would say buy walmart Skywarp or the new mp Thundercracker.

I also like Rodimus a lot, but people had problems with his arm falling off. Mine has been fine.

Not to mention the new Optimus who looks great and will be $100.

So you have a lot of options. If I was you, I'd pay the money for Grimlock.

his face is terrible looking, his legs are paper thing, his few metal parts rust easily, and the transformation is frustratingly complex. not to mention you had to pay crazy import prices for the US, at least.

GRIMLOCK IS THE BEST!! I'll never part with mine. MP-10 should be really nice too when it comes out.

If you're looking to get one for a good price I'd say try to find the new Optimus when he comes out at TRU. He's worth $100.

Grimlock is the only Masterpiece I have kept, having sold my MP01 and Rodimus Prime.

Though the new Seeker mold looks pretty sharp, and you just know Soundwave is gonna be killer.

Stick with the later releases and you'll be fine.

Thanks for the input guys! I've put a pre-order on Soundwave just in case, but I'll check to see if there is any good deals on, Grimlock. Sadly I let go of my pre-order of G2-Bruticus to see if this masterpiece might be worth it. Also this new MP-Optimus is he a remold of sorts or is he the same exact from his previous version?
