He's right, not that I've read will their ever be netflix on the Wii. They don't even have DLC for games, let alone stream movies but one day in the future say a few yrs down the road possible. Plus Wii will never go HD either so I doubt it for right now.

It will never work for the Wii because Nintendo designed the Wii to just be a game console. Nintendo couldn't compete with what MS and Sony were doing with their newer consoles, so they kept with their trend of making basic game consoles. Perhaps with Nintendo's next series of consoles they will design it to be more, but I wouldn't hold my breath. The PS3 and the X360 are basicly simple computers with gaming as its hub.

They DO have DLC. Off the top of my head there's Guitar Hero and Rock Band stuff, plus all the Final Fantasy the years after content.

The Wii even does streaming content now with all the videos on the Nintendo Channel. I can easily see Netflix coming eventually.

Netflix said they would like to be on all three consoles.

as stated above, they do have DLC. Some Wii Ware games even have DLC.

and they stream TV shows in japan. on the Wii. on the japanese Wii. in japan.

Why does HD matter? Netflix doesnt stream in HD.

It's coming, don't know when but like Valk said Netflix said they are going to. My guess is you'll need to get a disk from them like on the PS3.

I have been keeping on eye on this for a while now so I can set it up on my Mom's Wii whenever it happens.

A lot of TV shows are in HD, a few movies as well. You have to have a pretty good connection for it to work well though. I usually end up with a few minutes in HD and then it'll drop to a lower resolution.

I believe there are rumors that the Wii will get a disc based version similar to the PS3's solution right now.

There is also PlayOn Digital Media Server | PlayOn . It will stream Netflix, Hulu, youtube and many many others to a Wii, PS3 or 360. Its $40 for a license but there is a 14 day free trial. I think its well worth it for Hulu and the various network plug ins that allow you to watch shows they add to thier websites.

Well when I meant DLC, I mean DLC for other games besides guitar hero etc. I know they have those songs on their but to me thats just add-on songs not extra content to play as levels for games. I also figured they had all that extra in Japan but of course we here in the states can't get it as useally as it goes because Nintendo won't invest into that here.

Final Fantasy: The Years After has entire Downloadable levels and content, including weapons, armors, levels, etc.

It's not Nintendo that doesn't add the DLC, it's the game company releasing the game. That was proved with Guitar Hero. Smash Bros Brawl even had the ability to download other people's levels.

True, but I'm not a FF gamer either. I like the Mario games etc. I'm a shooter, thrid person style gamer when it comes to games but yeah the company is the people that have the content but Nintendo HAS to put it on their for DLC to download and if they don't, then the content that the company made is worthless to anyone.

That's not true though. An example would be Activision and the DLC for Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Activision would have to make the characters develop the tech for the game on the Wii system but they don't.

The Wii supports the infrastructure to download, install and play from up to 32 GB SD Cards, which is larger than earliest 360 HDD.

Netflix would be stupid to miss out on that market, of course they will come to the Wii if possible.

Ordered my disc. If for no other reason than to see the differences between the Wii and PS3 experiences.

I would ask for some screen shots but I already know what the result is going to be.
