What does NEST Stand for?I completely forgot. But,If you hate the twins,I don't,then Tell Ol' Devy about NEST N.ever E.at S.tupid T.ransformers
i thought it would be Non-biological Extra-terrestrail Support Team.... then again,i just thought it was that. not sure.
Not Alliance,I have all four Chapters.Wish I had the Adaptation. "Hi!I'm Billy Mae! Don't have your copy of the Revenge on DVD,Just read the early script,AKA,ADAPTATION! Call now, and,I'll suggest a store!"
There's actually a real NEST: Nuclear Emergency Support Team. Maybe this real life force was picked on purpose? Whenever they're hunting Decepticons, people see characters walking around with radiation meters...still, that doesn't explain why the army is also heavily involved, or why coverups like 'toxic spills' are created...
I like to think it stands for: Networked Elements: Supporters and Transformers I think I've read The Veiled Threat way too much or something...
I kinda wish they said what it stood for in the film, or atleast have it spelled out on the bottom of the screen in the opening subtitles. NEST is kind of a strange name for a group of transformers and humans
That's actually quite the brilliant theory, but I think it's a little too advanced for something that was thrown together so quickly.
Maybe somebody should ask the writers someday when they have the chance, but I think it could be possible. They might have started with the idea to use the real life NEST as a cover up, but that kinda got lost during the writer's strike and the end result. I don't see why they couldn't have gone with a different acronym if the task force wasn't based on the real NEST, especially since there are about 3 'official' meanings of the acronym that all don't make alot of sense and are probably afterthoughts. NEST doesn't really sound like something you would come up with out of your head if you were to give an alliance between humans and aliens a name, even if you want to keep it a secret. It wouldn't be the only idea that got lost somewhere in production. Another example is the use of Egypt - although the movie explains so very little, it's obvious that the original idea was very sound: The original 13 (or 7 ), come to Earth and build the solar harvester. The humans encounter them and believe them to be gods - the original animatic of the scene at the beginning of the movie depicts most of the humans on their knees praying..in the final movie you can still see some of them doing just so, but it's vague since the focus is on The Fallen who picks up a human. -The original 13/7, and ESPECIALLY The Fallen, look like Egyptian faraos (his head). -The humans mistake the Transformers for gods. -Pyramids are built to cover up the solar harvester, and finally.. -The Egyptian religion is based on the most important aspect: THE SUN. The whole Egyptian culture started because the humans were grateful for having the sun, after it didn't get destroyed in the war between the 'gods'. This is all really poorly explained in the movie..in fact, it's NOT explained in the movie, but I'm convinced this had been the intention at the start..until the writer's strike forced Bay to work with an early draft, and since he's not a writer, somehow forgot about these (important) aspects when working towards a final movie. I think NEST could be a similar case.
