Variant collectors, you've been screwed again. The black, red and green NEST logo to the top right of the Deluxe Class figures can be either stuck to an indent in the tray or in an indent on the bubble.

The attached pic isn't the best, but notice how the "tray" logo is a bit duller than the "bubble" logo because it is under a layer of plastic.

    Happy hunting...:banghead:

Have you checked to see if the "tray" version is a consumer-placeable-sticker?

I ask because the one NEST figure I've bought so far included a small NEST logo sticker taped to the bottom of the inside tray. Hasbro has been known to stick these pack-ins as "bubble deco" in the past, and it would save them a few cents per toy if the pacakge-label, and the freebie-pack-in were the same thing. Would make the running change make sense anyhow..

Wait, are these NEST stickers on the packaging the same stickers you're supposed to collect for the mail-away figure? If so, putting them on the inside sounds like a smart move. Otherwise you might have rabid idiots ripping them off the packages in stores. :(

The mail away NEST stickers are located on the bottom of the package where the instructions are.

Ahh. Still, that's a neat NEST logo on the packaging. Gotta keep people from stealing them...?

Or maybe it's also due to them potentially getting scratched off in shipping. I dunno.

Wow so collectors can now clear out the newest wave of shelf warmers!

I guess I'm not cool enough to care about packaging variants...

Oh that's right, the stickers are for the mail away!

OK, that kills my theory then, because the package-logo is a slightly-different design, so it couldn't do double-duty....

Might not be a variant, just the sticker has been put on the wrong place, probably just an accident... unless this happens on a lot of figures, I don't know, the UK doesn't have NEST yet =(

Can't be an accident, from what snkeyes069 is describing. If I'm reading correctly...wherever the sticker is placed, there is an indent on the plastic in the shape of the sticker. So, you have:

Version 1 - Indent on outer bubble, no indent on inner tray
Version 2 - No indent on outer bubble, indent on inner tray

So, there are two types of outer bubbles and two types of inner trays.

Exactly! The bubbles and trays are different between the two. Also, version 2 seems to suffer from more mold degredation than version 1. (I.e.: version 2 has caved in rear windshield on every toy I've checked.)

Version 1 was purchased from WalMart. Version 2 was from Target. This distribution is consistant in the Albany, NY area.

Is this that a BIG DEAL nowadays? It could probably be a mistake or something...in the factory. I would not treat this as a variant.

Well, if it has different molding for the plastic bubble then it is an intentional variant.

It looks like camera play to me and just the angle the pic was taken at. The indent to me still looks like it is on the inner bubble on both of them. Im betting that the stickers ran out during production or something so they just stuck them on the outer bubble. Either way its a pretty weak variant and wouldn't go crazy looking for it. I would place it as more of a package error before calling it a variant.. Ill find it funny if people try to sell one for more then the other lol
