It's got a fold down bipod:

The main gun splits into 2 and becomes 2 guns:

The scope also comes off and can be attatched to most of the newer Nerf stuff:

I ought to get a job at a Nerfaments plant.

One of those guns is the Classics Megatron model. Too bad Megs doesn't have darts too.

how does it shoot? and does it use the normal micro darts or some new sized bullets? i ask cuz like its fun when you can just use the same bullets and shoot them back and forth and not have to take a time out to reload

Me thinks that someone on the Nerf team at Hasbro also chips in on the Transformers team as well.....

I'd guess when the TF design team wanted to make a transforming gun they just cribbed a basic design from Nerf so it would get approval easily.

They also probably worked together on the E.Optimus roleplay blaster.

    Oh shit, son!

I've GOT to get that. It's like the design sensibility of the Maverick with the gimmicks of the n-strike UPS.

How's the scope? Did they finally make one that works?

Here's some more pics and a few questions answered. First thing's first, this is everything that comes with it:
The Darts, while the same size, don't have the suction cup on the end:
They load into clips just like a reg. gun. Each clip holds 6 of these new darts.
As seen above, the set comes with 2 clips. One is loaded in front of the trigger and right below the chamber here:
The other clip can be stored in the rear of the gun:
The scope does *not* work(ie: isn't adjustable), but looks cool nonetheless.

That's all for now, maybe more later tonight.

    Wow... that is cool..

The little hand gun with the 6 chamber in it reminds me of something out of Trigun or some other anime..

    Nerf gun with clips. Dude.

Now all you need is a CO2 tank and a belt feed.

HOT DAMN!!! I need one of those! I remember when Hasbro announced it, but there weren't any pictures of it.

How much is it? I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that the Maverick (aka Megatron) was only $8.

Heh... I bet at least one of the guys in the Gamers Guild at school will have one of these come September. There's at least six Mavericks between three or four of us.

It was $35 at TRU, but the SRP is $30. It's worth every penny. I hope that in the future they make ammo packs of the new darts. I tried a reg. suction cup dart and it jammed, so don't do that. I don't have any Dart Tag darts yet, but maybe this weekend I'll pick up one of the guns and see if the DT darts work with it. I might even get another Longshot just to have 2 of the scopes. I've got 2 Mavericks, and the scope looks so cool on one...if I had 2...:D

One thing I'd like to see(and I'm sure they'll do) is ammo packs with the new darts and maybe replacement clips as well. Hell, a bandolier would be amazing, with slots for clips and darts. The guns up to this point have kept getting more and more awesome, I can't wait to see what they put out next.

A couple more points and then I'm done. The rifle is bolt action seen by the orange knob above the trigger. There's a knob on each side, so no matter if you're right handed or left, you can still cock the gun. Also, there's a magazine release button near the mag. chamber. However, this is only on the right side of the gun, and not the left. It doesn't drop the magazine which sucks. You need to pull it out to remove it.

The grey stock is also adjustable, but when it's closest to the gun I can't get my hand around the handle and trigger, so I always keep it all the way back. Doesn't seem to be a middle setting as it clicks into place at one end or the other. There's a button you can move back to lock the stock in place, but as mentioned, there's only 2 places it works.

The front part of the rifle that is removable is a single shot "pistol". The slide is at the very beginning of the gun. There's a handle(which you have to attach) and trigger that fires this gun when it's cocked. If anyone remembers the old Rambo M-60 toy, this is amazingly similar. For whatever reason, the top of this part of the gun is wide open. It's too bad it's not closed and had a place where the scope could attach.

Like most larger Nerf guns(at least the Titan launcher and the Long Shot), there is a place to hook up a strap, but I'm not sure if Nerf has ever offered one.

    Again, best Nerf gun ever.
