The Barricade is cool because it can be used one-handed.

While I don't own them yet myself, the Quick 16 and Speedload are probably good due to how they load. There's apparently a slot on the side you just stick darts into. Should be good for quick reloading.

Longshot, two Barricades and a Spectre. I've modded my Spectre to look a bit like a halo ODST smg. Modified the Longshot barrel as well. :D

I am still really tempted by the Quick 16, Swarmfire, and Speedload 6, but I'm determined to wait it out. I'm sure if I wait long enough Nerf will release versions with bonus darts, scopes, or stocks that would be a better value for my money. Let's face it, they ALWAYS do that.

anyone know if the N-Strike line has been totally discontinued? i really enjoy this line and its modular parts.
i wish Nerf would continue to expand upon such a great line.
    take a look see below:

This is the Recon CS6 Pistol with just the Raider Drum Magazine added. Hoo-rah:

Recon pistol with Raider stock, drum magazine and light. Used the barrel extension from the Longstrike. (at a quick glance, it looks similar to the AR-15/M-16/M-4 rifle, ya think?)

Longshot with Recon barrel extension and light, Raider drum magazine.
*i put the drum mag in the stock just to see if it would fit and it did. it stays put!*

    lastly...
Longstrike with Longshot scope, Recon light and barrel extension.

The Raider drum mag looks neato on this, too, but it is bulky/awkward. The drum mag (to me) is just a great tool for holding a position.

i am looking forward to the Vortex line, but man, the N-Strike stuff rocked.

Well I just packed up my Nerf N-strike for storage. What a great line, I had more fun making weapon combinations with all the accessories than I did shooting them.

Nothing from vortex is appealing to me. I don't like disc shooters. I did get a chance to handle one of the discs though, not a typical foam disc. they are like a plastic bottle cap with 1/4 inch foam coating. The bottom is exposed plastic.

On a random note, the disc-launching shield from the current Captain America line makes a nice shield for Nerf fights.

You should think about picking up the Target exclusive Alpha Trooper. Besides not being a bad gun, it's got a "18 dart drum" (Though it was made to hold 20, for whatever reason, perhaps thinking CS-18 sounds cooler then CS-20), that's smaller and easier to wield, but still gives you the equivalent of 3+ clips in one.

I would call the Alpha Trooper better than the Raider simply because it hangs the clip out the bottom, which when using drum clips makes the gun much better balanced.

Hi, I don't know if you remember, but I was making a case for my Nerf guns, which I started... well ages ago.

    Remember this?

Anyway, it's been sitting under the bed since while I wait 'for better weather' so I could go out and sand and do otherwise outdoorsy DIY. What held me up was the fact I was using a power sander, and it was taking me AGES to make any sort of impression on the case.

However... yesterday was a sunny day... and this time I dumped the power sander and used sandpaper and sanding blocks instead, which took me a fraction of the time.

Corners were rounded off, holes were made for the corners, the corners were then fitted and edge trim was put on. Today my wife has painted the sides, but now we have a dilemma.

I think I would prefer an all matte black case. She thinks the pine looks good. The choice is either all black, or keep the wood as it and varnish it...

Thoughts? Because I honestly don't know which one would look better.

^ definitely go with the matte black.

FYI, I just picked up the new N-Force Vendetta double-bladed sword (think Darth Maul) from Target for $20. I didn't even remember that this thing existed and I must say that for a bludgeoning weapon it is freaking amazing.

I lucked out BIG time about 2 or 3 weeks ago at a neighbors yard sale. I got a 100% complete and working Vulcan for $10. The next day I nabbed 3 belt ammo packs at TRU on sale for $5.99 each. I made my self a 75 round belt that stores perfectly in a Browning .30cal ammo can, and kept a back-up 25 for the stock ammo box.

I don't buy Nerf guns, since they'd be too expensive and I wouldn't have enough space, but one of my friends does, and I love having Nerf battles with him, his friends, and his brother.

Have any of you purchased the Orange Mod Works upgrades for their Nerf guns?

EDIT: I just ordered this for my Recon. :)

    UPDATE: Thank you Craigslist.

I just scored a brand new Alpha Trooper AND slightly used Vulcan with 3 belts of ammo all for $20...plus they live locally. :)

the Alpha is on my "to get list".
i regard the Raider as a "slug" shotgun. but the side loading is not it's best trait.
