This is just the start of a movie accurate ratchet but after I put a black base coat on him I couldn't help but notice how cool he looked. With a little chrome and a new head this could be the start of something sweet.

Aw man. I was Just thinking about how cool it would be to repaint a ratchet black. Oh well Looks good so far though, did you use Fusion Spray paint? I guess I will just think up something else for my ratchet, Don't want to be a copy cat, maybe red with white highlights like in the gallery. Any-who keep us up to date on your progress, k.

Fact: Everything looks better in black. If it has gold accents, doubly so.

I don't know why, but I'm envisioning A-team red striping.

Which would make him look a lot like trailbreaker, go figure.

Matte colors make the details pop a little more. That's why so many of us love prototypes, then go "meh" on final production.

I agree, you should do trailbreaker.

No, that's opinion. I do know people who don't think everything looks better in black (I'm one of them). So, speak for yourself. Back on topic, not bad, but, personally I wouldn't have painted the clear parts all black.

Wow, a lot of questions overnight. To answer them all:
    1. This is going to be a green movie ratchet but I started with a black base coat.
    2. I would really like to see someone do a trailbreaker
    3. I hate black/gold combo too.
    4. I used a spray can of chaos black from Warhammer.
    5. And I taped off the windows so not to get black on them.

Thanks for all the feedback! I'll post more pics when he's back in a better green.

    TT.

I think you should name him Torque, as in a torque wrench, and make him a Con combat medic, who specializes in canabilizing the bodies of fallen autobots to repaint decepticons in battle.
