Hope this one can live up to the hype, not to say I don't like Unleashed or Black Knight but this explains my concern:
Yeah, I'm a big believer in the Sonic cycle at this point... Sonic Team will surely find a gimmick to shove down our throats that will overwhelm the actual speed elements, probably one that could be better done by one the hundred or so other little fuzzy characters in the Sonic universe that wont actually be playable.
Finally! If there is room in the market for Sonic and the Black Knight then there has to be room in the market for this. I hope that Shadow Complex and Splosion Man taught Sega something.
...Fuck it, I'll buy it no matter what anyone says. A freaking next-gen 2.5D Sonic Game? Hell yeah. HELL YEAH. That means this bitch is going to be long. But fast, the developers noted how they like the daytime levels in Unleashed. I don't have my hopes up, but I will get this game. And I will love it. Because its Sonic. 2D Sonic.
My friend sent me a link to this, all excited, but I couldn't in any way be excited. I'll keep an eye on it, but until I see glowing reviews and feedback everywhere for the final product, I won't be too enthusiastic.
That teaser revealed little even for a teaser. You might as well have just put up "A new Sonic game is coming" and left it at that. That teaser site is weird, though. They way those platforms are held up makes it look like they'd belong in a Crash Bandicoot game, not a Sonic game.
Whenever a new Sonic game is announced, people all declare "Finally a return to 2D" and pretend that it didn't already happen. Yeah, Sonic Rush. It's been happening, and yes it's actually quite good.
I'll start off the first part of the sonic cycle: Oh my god! A Sonic console game that's going back to it's roots?!? Sega finally learned! This is will finally be a comeback worthy of Sonic the Hedgehog! Now to wait and see when the next part of the cycle kicks in.
See, the thing is I don't care about the Sonic Cycle. I just want to see how fast he goes in this game.
It looks like Sega is messing with us with this countdown. LOL @ "Sonic's new friend Mr. Needlemouse".
Maybe i'm just a cynic, but Sega are probably making this just so all the gullible fanboys that whine about crap Sonic games and buy them anyway will cling on for another 10 years waiting for another one.
